Veil rhinestones catching on fabric

Hi! So I've purchased a veil that has large tiffany set rhinestones sewn all along the edges of the veil. It's beautiful, but the only problem is that the prongs of some of the rhinestones snag on the netted fabric of the veil and the skirt of my dress.

I've heard suggestions to use a coat of nail polish on the stones, but am concerned about how it will affect the brightness of the stones, and if it will even work.

Has anyone tried this, and did it work? Does anyone know how to fix this problem? I really don't want to have to purchase another veil.

    I have booked my venues, caterer, photographer, makeup artists, hairstylist and dress so far. I'm working on pickinig out bridesmaids dresses, videographers and shoes next Smiley smile

    I'm sure you veil is absolutely beautiful with the rhinestones and I totally understand why you wouldn't want to purchase another one. It's true that using nail polish could soften the edges, but it's a technique to be very careful with. You could start by putting it only a few rhinestones first to see if it works and only on the prongs, which seem to be the part that is problematic.
