Mexico wedding

Brittany, on June 22, 2017 at 10:25 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 7

I'm in the beginning stages of planning a destination wedding!!

If anyone has any ideas/tips or things they've done in their hometown that could be included in a destination wedding.

Were only having 12 people so it will be small and intimate. But i am looking for some ideas!

I flew down 18 months in advance, looked at all resorts above 4 stars with kids, interviewed the manager, wedding coordinator, looked a potential places for reception, ceremony, the beach, gazebo toured each room category as I wanted to both smell them (mold, mildew etc.) and look at them.

Then I interviewed local videographers, photographers etc.

I took pictures and completed a detailed site inspection of each resort.

Remember the people who you think will won't miss your wedding will, the people you least expect to attend your wedding will.

What people do not realize in planning a designation wedding at all inclusive resort is that they assume since its all inclusive its free-wrong. On the day of the wedding I am paying for servers, bartenders, plate $90 USD per person, cocktail reception $25 USD per person drinks and appetizers immediately following). You also have to pay the legal fees, wedding resort fees, they differ at each resort.

People assume its cheap. It is not.

Many friends and family want us to throw another party here after the wedding since they cannot attend but we are paying for every single aspect of our wedding ourselves including flying our parents to our wedding so we cannot afford both.

If you want to do something in your hometown as well as your destination wedding just keep in mind cost and budget.

Cuba sounds amazing! What sorts of things are you planning to put in your welcome bags. I've started looking at some things on Pinterest but am struggling with quality vs quantity.
    When's your wedding in Cuba?

I'm planning a destination wedding too. Ours will be in Cuba. The things that I've been doing so far are: I've got my dress; I've picked our invitations so as soon as I book the wedding, I'm ready to get them made up and sent off. Although I do have to gather addresses. I want to give my guests as much notice as possible. I'm expecting about the same number as you, around 15 or so. Now that I have my dress I'm working on finding the right accessories. I'm pricing things for the welcome bags. Some of the other things I've done is check out the legal marriage requirements, found out some local stuff about Varadero.....there is a lot of stuff to keep yourself busy prepping for the big day.

The Riviera Maya is beautiful!! That's where Phil and I are in my picture!! We were just there in November and it was wonderful!!!

Hi! I'm really looking for all ideas! I have a rough idea of what I want things to look like in my head but I'm struggling to get things together. Were having a really small wedding only 12 people.

I have tried talking to the resort wedding planner but they only talk with you 3 months out, and that makes my stress level rise! lol

What sort of ideas are you looking for? For the ceremony? The cocktail? Reception? Some things may not be as easy to do at a destination wedding. I'm guessing you have a wedding planner assigned to you from the resort. They are an extremely good resource and can give you lots of ideas to select from for your wedding.
