Hello Future Brides,

Wondering if anyone else is postponing their dates. My original date was on July 18th 2020, and we have decided to move it to October 9th 2020 in hopes this Pandemic will be "close" to over.

What is everyone's thoughts. What are you doing & when are your wedding dates? What struggles and issues are you facing right now? Are your Vendors being helpful? How are your venues treating this situation?

I hope everyone is trying to stay positive as hard as I know it is. I am praying this works out for everyone, and I am so sorry if you have already experienced having to adjust according to the pandemic. My heart is with you all! Smiley heart

Let me know what you are doing to try and stay sane!
Smiley laugh

I think we are all in the same boat!! How crappy!! But I see the light at the end of the tunnel.... whats important!!!!..we are marrying our best friend and lover....best person EVER!! I know I am! We are keeping our summer date of July 18th...a small intimate wedding at home....postponed the reception till Feb 20th...then its time to celebrate with our friends and rest of the family. Yes this COVID is a game changer...but I am thankful that I have a fantastic venue and vendors, by the time Feb rolls around we will be able to celebrate and relax!!!

Ours was originally July 3 and now October 18. I’m hoping that we can still have something by then—it may not be the wedding we envisioned but even just have a small gathering would be better than nothing. I hope it works out for all of us!

    Hi Stephanie,
We wish we could have had our Stag & Doe but it was planned for April 18th which of course couldn't happen. We had cancelled it and have no desire at the moment to re-plan anything nor do we know if we would be ale to do anything.

At this point we are hoping to do out Bachelorette and Bachelor party and just the wedding.
My Venue is currently advising me of dates available for next year and we are going to put a soft hold on a date for next year in the event our date this year doesn't work out.

Our wedding was originally July 10 2020 and we just made the difficult decision to postpone. We really wanted a summer date so we decided on August 6 2021. That way we can ensure that (hopefully) things would have settled down significantly and our guests would feel comfortable coming. Since we have so much family coming in from around the world and the borders were still closed... it just felt like the right decision to make. Hopefully you can still have your wedding! Keeping my fingers crossed!

Our original date is Aug. 21, 2020 but with all the uncertainty it seems it will most likely be postponed but we're not sure if things will settle down for October 2020 (I would prefer the Fall this year). We have approx. 500 guests which makes it tough, we can cut the guest list down but we still have close family travelling from the US and UK, so the safest option seems to be May 2021. We're hoping to make a decision by the end of the month because it doesn't seem like gathering restrictions will ease up and we're not sure about the expected second wave for the Fall.

Our wedding is supposed to be September 12,2020. Were feeling hopeful we will be able to have our wedding that day but we made a backup date for June 4 2021 incase. Are any of you not doing a bridal shower / stag and just going through with the wedding if your able?

My fiancé and I were supposed to be getting married May 23rd, we obtained our marriage licence and ended up doing a small ceremony at home in April with our witnesses, parents from a distance and family joining via video chat. We postponed our original wedding to August 9th in hopes that we’ll still be able to do a renewal ceremony and have our reception etc then. Our guest count is realtively small (less than 60) so we’re trying to stay hopeful but with everything being so up in the air we’re not sure if we should just push to April of next year yet or not 🙁. All in all just trying to stay positive, our venue and vendors have all been super accommodating and helpful so we’ve definitely lucked out! Just playing the waiting game now and hoping for August 🤞🏼

Well first off, thank you for continually going into working and helping those not so fortunate as us. It must be very stressful !

I am so sorry you have had to postpone everything but I do hope it works out in September for you, we are both in the same boat so trust me when I say I am sending all the positive energy your way, and that I understand your frustrations with the wedding. I'm praying it works out for all of us ! Smiley heart

Stay strong girl! We will get through this and over this together.

    Hi there,
I’m so sorry you had to postpone Smiley sad Itotally get how you feel, we were supposed to get married June 27, 2020 and also postponed.

I just noticed you mentioned you lost money on a photo permit? Wondering if you got your permit through the city of Mississauga? Just wanted to mention cause we had our photo permit with the city of Mississauga (one of their parks) and we got a full refund. Wanted to let you know in case!!
Crossing my fingers and toes for your new date!

    Hi there,

We were supposed to get married June 6, 2020 but rebooked to September 11,2020. It has been very difficult and I am struggling with it everyday! Our venue Mississauga Grand was beyond amazing in working with us to select a new date. Our vendors have all for the most part been accommodating. I am just so fearful I’ll be moving this for a second time, I am trying not to obsess over it but I am. We lost close to 900 dollars as we had booked a permit for a photo location and had already purchased our marriage licence and the invites were already at home. I got my mom to throw out the invites as I just couldn’t look at them anymore.
My bachelorette away in Cuba was also cancelled. To top it all off I’m a nurse, on the front lines to add more stress to the mix. It’s just super sad and I’m grateful to have my health and be alive but super angry about the wedding. It’s made it so difficult for me to be hopeful about things opening up in time.

Our wedding was originally planned for a month from today, June 20th. We have postponed to October 17th and will be getting married either way that day. Big or small, though of course hoping for our dream wedding day as planned. If we have to do a small ceremony only, we will be moving the party to a future date in 2021 or whenever is feasible. It sucks to not have the whole day as planned but we have been together for nearly 10 years and we just don’t want to wait to be married anymore and start a family. I honestly feel for everyone in this group. I am having such a hard time accepting that my wedding my won’t be happening in a few weeks. It’s all very sad and frustrating, hopefully everyone’s dates work out for them. Wishing everyone the best! Hang in there Smiley smile

I was supposed to be getting married on July 18th as well and have now postponed it to October 24, 2020. I am really hoping we can go ahead with that date but it’s hard to feel optimistic. Luckily, all of my vendors were available for that date, but I worry that if we have to postpone again they won’t be available! Best of luck to everyone and hang in there! Such strange times, these are!

Our wedding was supposed to be October 3, 2020 but we have booked an alternate date of October 2, 2021. We have 350 guests and there’s no way we would be able to cut the list to even an amount of 100 (which I don’t see them allowing). If another spike happens now or in the fall like they’re saying, we just can’t bear to wait this out and risk the heath of our guests. All of our vendors were great with booking an alternate date! I think mid to late 2021 is a much safer bet than anything this year.

I’m glad someone else did a postponement as well! We just postponed from October 3, 2020 to October 2, 2021. We can’t get anything done with everything closed and it is too much anxiety and uncertainty waiting. Also, if somehow a miracle occurred and we could have our wedding this year, we would have zero time to complete all of the tasks we still have to do and would be worried about the safety of our friends and family. Some of my friends think we are being presumptuous, but I say we are being careful.
