Hello Future Brides,

Wondering if anyone else is postponing their dates. My original date was on July 18th 2020, and we have decided to move it to October 9th 2020 in hopes this Pandemic will be "close" to over.

What is everyone's thoughts. What are you doing & when are your wedding dates? What struggles and issues are you facing right now? Are your Vendors being helpful? How are your venues treating this situation?

I hope everyone is trying to stay positive as hard as I know it is. I am praying this works out for everyone, and I am so sorry if you have already experienced having to adjust according to the pandemic. My heart is with you all! Smiley heart

Let me know what you are doing to try and stay sane!
Smiley laugh

That's how I felt too. I was so excited because it was so soon, and now its like... wow I have to wait how much longer AGAIN!? lol

I wouldn't send out new invitations, unless financially you can afford to do it. What I did was started a facebook group and added all the people invited to it, to keep everyone updated on the new date, and all the information, and I had people RSVP via facebook. There are also some websites you can have people RSVP too, which would save you lots of cost, such as https://www.theknot.com/ !
I hope this helps girl! Smiley heart

We were Aug.8th 2020... initially we were going to wait to June to make a final decision but it just turned to no longer being enjoyable... we decided that it was much better for us to postpone. We have postponed to Oct. 9th 2021... my personal advice... i wouldn't rebook this year because there's too much uncertainty and you want people to feel comfortable coming...depending on how many people you have. we have a guest count of around 230... so I'm hoping by Oct. of next year we'll have some sort of "normalcy" again.

Good luck with whatever you chose though Smiley smile

Ours was June 20th and our venue postponed our wedding to Sept 20th this year. I am hoping to still get married this year even if we have to cut down our guest list (We were suppose to have 178 guests). If they increase the gathering restriction to 50-70 guests by September, I would be fine with that because then we can just keep it to immediate family and close friends, and have the rest of our guests zoom in! We were fortunate that our ceremony venue fully refunded us because they were not available on our new date. In the meantime, we are waiting until end of June/First week of July to revisit and make any changes. I was really hoping our reception venue would postpone to next year though LOL cause I don't mind just having our ceremony this year with beautiful pictures and our videographer to capture it. Then have our reception next year with everybody. It is what it is. It's just a lot of uncertainty Smiley sad

We are getting married in December, but at this point I feel as though we will have to postpone. We are going to wait until July to make a final decision, but it’s hard to imagine that celebrations of even 100 will be allowed by the end of the year. It is important to us that our older family members can be there, and I would never want to put them in a situation where they are potentially unsafe.

Right now we are trying to be hopeful about the future and focus on the positives. Every professional around the world is trying to find a treatment or vaccine, so you never know what could happen. And if the end result is that we do have to postpone, we still have a lot to be thankful for. We are both healthy, our families are healthy, and we still get to spend the rest of our lives together.

We have postponed our weeding, it was suppost to be in Sept. We had guest coming from all over including BC and USA. We just wanted to make sure that everyone was safe and comfortable traveling. I think that it is the best right now. Our wedding was going to be on Sept 12,2020 which would have made 15 years to the day that we met. I am with you, we have been waiting on this day for years but putting it aside for another year means that we can have everyone together on this very special. Keep strong we will all get through this. #covidismessingeverythingup

Ok great, thank you!! My invitations were one of the thousand reasons I was stressed about postponing... so that is helpful Smiley smile
I have our wedding date printed on a few different things, but honestly I am so over this... if we do postpone, I am just keeping them as is. It’ll be like a little nod to our original date. Haha I can’t spend more money than we already have 🙄

Hey! I just reached out to them! And asked if there was a promo happening for wedding invites due to having to postpone as my original invites are worthless now.

Unfortunately they advised the deposit was not refundable. Offered a free engagement session (which was already included in my package) so it’s a lose/lose I feel as most photographers that I have reached out all include a engagement session anyway. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I know I feel the same way. At this point I’m trying to follow what other provinces are doing to see where we might be in the future. I read that B.C. is going to allow max 50 ppl but to forget about large gatherings until a vaccine has come out. So if we’re allowed 50 ppl in September were just gonna go ahead and do a smaller wedding. 😞

I feel that way too - we're June 2021 but who's to know if things will be open and relaxed again? Certainly puts a damper on planning - there's that thought in the back of your head that things may not play out how we hoped.

Sadly, I don’t think there will be a vaccine until next year some time.

Until then, I hope everyone keeps distancing and we get this down to a level that’s manageable.

My fiancé and I were supposed to get married in a week (May 16th). A few weeks ago we pushed the date to November 7th but because we don't know how things will be in the Fall and whether or not there will still be travel and gathering restrictions we decided to postpone until next year. Our new date is May 22, 2021. I just finished contacting everyone (Church, reception venue, priest, photographer, videographer, DJ, caterer, limousine service and cake provider). I can't believe I have another year of waiting. Now I wonder... do I send new invitations? 🙈

We hope your postponed date works out for the best without any drawback. The choice of making the postponement a renewal ceremony followed by reception is one option. The second option is deciding to make it an anniversary party.

I agree. I think Ford will end up opening the economy more, but at the same time if we get that spike like China did, then I think everything will be shut down again, and stricter than before.

Let's just hope we find a vaccine, and that the numbers continue to drop so we can go back to what our "new normal" will be.
Never in a million years did I think this would happen though! Smiley atonished

We're trying to remain optimistic - I think Ford will allow a "social distanced" wedding by July (only because he wants the economy running again). I could be totally wrong though.

We'd rather wait it out because our venue doesn't have any dates next year anyway LOL so what are we losing at this point!

At least you guys got an October date - our venue is fully booked for the rest of this year also. It's so stressful - I'm sorry you had to change dates but at least you have more time to hopefully have this calm down some more.

It became a no brainer when we realized his one grandmother is 94years old this year, so we love her to pieces and didn't want anything to happen to her. And in the end we are still getting married so it wasn't the end of the world

Yes I don't know if it will EVER be normal again. I think people will be very hesitant towards everything. I am jut hoping the numbers decrease and an immunization is found.

Yes I agree with this 100%
My FH are planning to try right away after the wedding too, which is why he's DEMANDING to be married this year lol.

We have agreed that if it gets pushed till next year we will try for a baby before and of course plan for the wedding AFTER the baby is born the following year.

We are just trying to deal with the cards dealt to us.

Yes I agree with that. I think that's the problem with anyone holding it this year including myself. It's the "what ifs" and that will also affect the amount of people that will show up too.

Our wedding date is also September 26,2020 but we’re in Montreal, Quebec 😕
We’ve also booked up a backup date .. for May 22,2021.. but I honestly have no idea what’s going to happen. 😞

Our wedding date is September 26,2020 and at first when this all broke out I said oh well be ok! Schools will be re opened by then, so I don’t see why we wouldn’t be able to get married.. but as time progresses it makes me more nervous, here in Quebec we have the most amount of cases in Canada and they keep pushing the reopenings. 😔
I’m starting to lose hope.. from what the premier has said we need to maintain social distancing until theirs a vaccine or immunization.. which is def going to take a while. 😔
We’ve contacted our vendors and have booked a backup date Incase September is a no go for May 22,2021 but even at that.. I don’t think things will be back to completely normal by then either. 🥺

Our original wedding date is August 1, 2020 and we are waiting until May 30 to make our definite decision of whether to postpone.
We have planned a wedding of only 50 guests, and no one will be travelling. We are hoping for the best, but know it doesn’t seem likely, so we have a back-up date of October 24, 2020... if that date doesn’t work either, we will have a small ceremony in my grandmother’s backyard and have the reception in 2021.Our venue and vendors have been absolutely amazing and so accommodating. We feel very lucky in that way.
Natasha, how did you get Vistaprint to give you a credit for new invitations??
Sending good luck and well wishes to all of you beautiful brides 💕

We’re still holding on to our date this year - September 26, and won’t be making a decision until July. Hoping and praying sooo hard!! Even if we have to cut our guest list to 50 we would still go through with it - but as it stands the gathering limit here is still 15 people. However, we have been penciled in by all of our vendors as we have secured a back up date for May 28, 2021 just in case things don’t work out as planned come September. We will still get legally married this year regardless of what happens, and have the reception next May if that’s the way it ends up. ❤️ (We want to try for a baby after our wedding in September so it would be MUCH more convenient if it could all be done this year 😂)
