What?! That's awesome! How did you come up with that theme? And how will you incorporate the themes in?

I hope so! I really love them, I'm just nervous that I am going to have too much gold going on: gold chair covers, gold wine bottles and votives and then gold sequins table runners. But I have plum runners to help offset with Ivory table cloths and then my wood cookies plus some greenery I think. And yes I agree the look of the real ones and flame less ones are so different but I guess it depends on if they are out in the open or if they are covered by something and just the light shines out. And yes, the Christmas lights are so much cheaper! I find that people are always getting rid of them.

We’re doing a subtle beauty and the beast theme, based on the traditional story with hints from my pop up beauty and the beast book.

Haha oh no I think lots of people use them! That’s a good idea! I think the majority will be tea lights I’m still debating whether we should use the flameless ones but I really do prefer real candles. I think I’ll get some single wick ones too since I know they’ll last longer.
They will glow so nice in your gold holders!

Yeah no problem! Our venue is a forested conservation area with a beautiful view of the first so we took our theme from that. Kind of bringing the outside in. And evergreens because our wedding is in November so it's in season Smiley smile Wine bottles will look super classy though! That's great!

Haha okay I'm glad I'm not the only one using Christmas lights! Maybe the big ones you can use by the wine barrels? Solar lights are a good idea too! Will you be using tea lights or bigger candles? I have tea lights for my gold votives.

They’re Christmas lights. I do have some of the big bulb ones from Michaels but not enough for the inside of the tent I think I’ll use them outside in some of the near by trees Haven’t decided yet, I think some things we’ll just wing it haha some areas will just be easier with solar lights too but I think it’s safe to say I am light and candle obsessed lol

I really hope so! And haha that's awesome me too! I bought a couple sets but I think I may need more. Facebook seems to help so much for us! And that's awesome! Are they Christmas interior lights, those big bulbs or thin strands? I have a tentative inventory that I started on my budget calculator here but I kind of gave up for now lol.

I’m sure it’s going to turn out awesome! I know hey sometimes I doubt myself too but I bought a big rubermade tote of lights off someone on fb that she used for her wedding and I think there’s 50 25 foot strands! I need to go through all my wedding stuff and do an inventory haha we’ve accumulated so much over this past year.

Yeah definitely! I still have to build my backdrop. Hoping it turns out rustic like I want it. It's going to be made out of wind boards so hoping my vision will come out. I may have to go shopping for more lights lol. I have a decent amount now but for some reason it seems like you can't have too many!

Ah sounds beautiful! And ah that's so nice of her! We cut some spruce trees and are making them as wood cookies. They have a bit of cracks but it definitely adds some character. Nice!! That would be super cute! Definitely a great addition to the decor at your home!

Yep we have hundreds of lights! Lol, we plan to string them in the ceiling of the tent and our back drop and head table will have fairy lights and probably some out in the trees. My MOH is supposed to make us wood cookies from a birch tree she has - she cuts wood seasonally for pt work so she’d handy with a saw and offered to do them for us.
You should be able to get them from Canadian tire in the summer time, some carry them and some don’t. But this one was made by a woman in Leduc. We’ve rented some double
wine barrel tables as well, I’m thinking of turning ours into a single table with a glass top and some bar stools after the wedding Smiley smile

And oh I love how deep that colour is! It will really pop! Will you have chair ties too? I'm still contemplating whether to have some because I will have a lot of gold and purple anyway and I don't want to take away from the decor.

It will kind of look like this. Only difference is the chair covers will be champagne as well and the centerpieces will be dark red and white (instead of pink).

Not really. I've always loved dark red and royal blue so I knew I was going to have one of those colours. Just had to wait for FH to decided on black or royal blue and then all I had to do was pick lighter colours I liked that would compliment it.

I feel like I got bits and pieces of our decor inspiration from Pinterest, other weddings and just what I envision in my head. Since we’re getting married on my fiancé’s parents farm we wanted to keep it rustic and I like neutral colours. I love a woodsy/rustic feel so hopefully we achieve that! Wine barrels, wood, burlap and lace are definitely part of our decor. One of my favourite decor pieces is our wine barrel with our name and year on it. Still not sure where I want to put it that day lol but I love it. Our bridesmaid dresses we found online and the colour is called “dusk” kinda hard to describe its like a purplish/grey/brown. I ordered swatches in a few colours and thought I’d go with blush but both my fiancé and I didn’t like it so here we are with dusk, greys, browns, creams and a little splash of blush. Very neutral, I hope it all ties together nicely on our big day!

Yes I totally agree! I found it hard to change my colour after but definitely decided it was worth it. Did you find it hard to pick your colours?

It doesnt look bad, but I think green and purple would be too much. That green would look good with peach or soft yellows. Deep greens or emerald would look amazing with silver and white.

Yeah I totally know what you mean! That sounds super nice! So is your wedding going to be inside a building (by a garden) or right outside in the garden?

Oh that will be super nice! I should look into tree trimmings as well! I work at a forest nursery so it wouldn't be hard. I never actually thought about that! I've been struggling as to what to put on the tables as my last piece of decor so I'll have to look into that. Hope you don't mind? Thank you! And I totally agree! It's super great to reuse jars! My fiancé's brother got married two years ago and actually let us borrow some of their decor (well gold wine bottles). Did you find it hard to come up with your theme or it just came naturally?

I worry that shells will be too beachy and that’s not the theme that we want, so I think we’re just using the colour palette as inspiration and leaning more towards lavender and cream with bits of sage and rosemary. So like a lavender garden. The shells brought us to the colour palette and we’ll do our best to incorporate it into the garden venue.

That sounds really nice! And I know the purples are such weird vibrant ones that are kind of hard to pair with. That's why I ended up going with the eggplant/plum colour. Did you find it hard to change your vision after that colour change or was it pretty easy?
For mine, I felt like I needed to talk to my mom, fiancé, and "planner" (bridesmaid) just to justify it lol- so in that regard I was a tad indecisive.

Oh that will be beautiful!!! Will you be using shells in your theme or will you mostly be having a lot of flowers on the table? It sounds like it will look amazing with those colours.

That sounds super nice! I really think your colours will pop! I'm excited to see pictures from your big day! My fiancé originally wanted green so I was looking at green and purple but it looked more like a sixteenth birthday in my mind lol. So basically it would have been a bold green like that with more of a violet. A little much what do you think?

We don't have the budget for flowers so we wanted to use evergreens, and I'm an environmental studies major so we wanted to be as green as possible so for the jars, my family has been saving and cleaning used pickle, salsa, jam, and sauce jars to save us money and to repurpose it. We want our wedding to feel cozy and welcoming, so our venue will have fairy lights woven through the wooden rafters Smiley smile

I originally picked purple and turquoise for my wedding colours, nearly a year before I got engaged! 😮 I was thinking a royal purple and a jewel-toned turquoise, but neither I nor my bridesmaids liked the purple bridesmaid dresses...but we LOVED the lavender ones! So now my colours are lavender and turquoise with royal purple and ivory accents. We’re going for an elegant country theme, with fairy lights in mason jars as the table decorations.
