How To Manage your RSVP in 3 steps

Emilie, on December 14, 2016 at 07:15 Posted in Tech support 0 11

Hi lovely community! Smiley heart

Here's how to use the RSVP tool on your website and a tip for managing meal options! Smiley gift

1. Add your guests to My Guests tool

Add your guests to the tool first, their attendance will then automatically synch as they RSVP.

Synched Guest Attendance

2. Share the link to your Wedding Website

You can share the link in a custom e-mail or share invitations directly through your website.

Here's how to do it: How To Send Invitations to My Website

3. Manage meal options by creating a poll or survey and share the link with your guests.

Your guests won't be able to choose meal options directly from the RSVP unless they leave it in the comments. The ideal way to do it, is to create a poll where your guests can choose their menu options and you can keep track of their answers.

Note: When your guests leave a comment, only you will be able to see it. You will receive a notification by e-mail and in your WeddingWire Inbox with their answer.

Hi, I was wondering if you have a date for when the meal option functionality will be added to the RSVP section? This is the one missing function that makes me consider using another wedding site. It would also be nice if I could set up a page to list the wedding party - for the moment, I've created a second "wedding blog". I love everything else about the wedding site and the wedding wire planner!

    Thanks!

It's been 6 months since this conversation... what's taking so long to add this feature? The U.S. site has it, copy the code and add it. I could have my own developer added to your site in 5 business days! 6 months for a basic and critical function for wedding planning, on a site which is designed to help the planning process is FAR too long!

By using a survey, you then need to add menu manually for each guest based on the poll results, correct?

I noticed that the US website offers the ability for guests to choose their meal when they RSVP (https://support.weddingwire.com/hc/en-us/articles/206346145-Input-Meal-Options). Are there any plans for this functionality to be added to the Canadian website?

It is a real shame this functionality is missing, it would save a lot of manual effort.

Hi Angel, thanks for reaching out! We unfortunately don't have a set date to give you now for when the companion function will be effective, but I will keep you posted Smiley smile

    Hi Emilie,

Do you have an ETA on the companion improvement? I'd like my guests to be able to RSVP for their companions as well as themselves (saves me the hassle of hunting down companion emial addresses). My wedding isn't until September, so I have some time before RSVPs are needed, but I'd like to launch our website ASAP.

    Thanks!

    Angel

Hi Alice, thanks for pointing that out ! Smiley smile To facilitate registering, the website shows all the guests with the same first name. The companion does not unfortunately appear, but that's something we will be improving shortly.

How's everything going with your website? Smiley smile

I've noticed that when guests search their names, a whole list of names appear. Is there a way to do an exact match? When the guests see the whole list of names, they are also able to see who is "Attending", is there a way to hide this?

I've also added companions to certain guests to show that there are couples or families attending. Ideally, when the guest searches his/her name, their companion or family members should also appear in the search list but this does not appear to be the case. Is there any way to do this?

    Thanks!
