I feel like this conversation was bound to come up. Any brides on here that are *starting* to get a little alarmed/concerned that the virus might interfere with their wedding? Do they even offer insurance on these kinds of things? I’m not as concerned or panicked as the people in Costco that are stuffing their carts with TP, but I AM wondering if any other brides have a back up plan?

No back up plan really, but it's definitely not an ideal situation. My SO and I are just going to make the most of it if things worsen over the next few months. Unfortunately it's out of our control Smiley sad

I'm just hoping that it leaves as quickly as it came!!

I’m more concerned about our honeymoon plans. We only have a handful of guests coming in from out of town(and only a few kids and elderly) and our venue is so far being understanding about people canceling. Our wedding is May 30th so I’m hoping by then there’s a better understanding about treating the virus.

We have a layover in the USA and I’m concerned with their numbers growing. Wedding insurance seems to cover to trip cancellations only if the wedding is cancelled. Airlines seem to only be waiving fees to reschedule, but our resort is where the big chunk of the funds are. Crossing my fingers things show some sort of improvement by then.

My province had it's first confirmed case yesterday.

I'm not worried about the wedding. If people can't come that's ok. If we need to change the date that's ok.
My fiance's family is in Newfoundland and Wisconsin so I worry about travel restrictions, but if we have to have a second wedding to include everyone it'll be fine.

Same... I have around 50 guests flying from overseas and I’m hoping everything works out for the best.

Yeah! The large gathering thing is definitely a concern to me if this keeps spreading... keeping my fingers crossed that your parents will still be able to make it!

My wedding isn't until October and as of today my province still doesn't have any confirmed cases, so I'm not too worried right now.

I’m not worried to be honest - I think there is insurance but not sure at this point whether there would be coverage since COVID is a known thing now.

Our international guests might not be able to come - which stinks but everyone’s health is what’s most important at this point!

It’s also important to think about honeymoon plans (if you have them). I feel like with the travel involved, honeymoons are even more in jeopardy than the wedding itself. I’ve been thinking about all the upcoming brides who were planning to visit Italy! It would be so disappointing to have to put that on hold.

My parents wouldnt be able to come if there is a quarentine..
But i think we might also not be able to have 'large gatherings' if things go south
    Its very tricky..

I am definitely not at the “I need to stock pile my basement with doomsday supplies or fight someone in the grocery store for the last package of TP concerned.” However, I am thinking of my out of province guests which are my immediate family. My grandparents, mother and step-mother all have weakened immune systems so I know they might worry over flying, as am I. I am looking into helping them with other options of transportation like renting them an RV. I am not really thinking of an alternate plan, I am more concerned that my family will not be in attendance. If you did purchase wedding insurance you could call them and see what their coverage is on this type of situation.
