Ceremony and Reception: One Location or Two?

Joey, on May 29, 2018 at 14:05 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 52

Will your whole wedding take place at one location? Or will you be traveling between a ceremony venue and a separate reception venue? Shout out whether you have one venue or two!

It is in Edmonton, Alberta, at a hotel/conference centre, ceremony outside gazebo and reception same place.

One location! It would be much much much cheaper if we held the ceremony and reception at different locations, but we wanted to avoid running around for both us and the guests. At the same time, aside from the outdoor location of where the ceremony would take place, the reception at the venue is gorgeous. We compared the price of the caterer to the prices at a nice banquet hall and it is 3x more expensive.. but because of the reasons above, we decided to do it.

One location! We originally were thinking two, but when we saw this venue, we fell in love! There is also 2 ceremony areas (one indoor and one outdoor) so we are set for any weather!

Maybe two. I know at our church they only serve very few alcoholic drinks and a lot of our family likes to drink, especially at weddings

Two in one deal. Rooftop ceremony at the resort then banquet hall on their golf course for reception.

We had one venue so bautiful and gorgeous that family and friends enjoyed their time being up north. Bonfire was set the night before and everyone had blankets or jackets on. Made smores sandwiches and singing songs. Best family time thats ever given.

Wedding and reception held in different spots and ladies were handhags free except for those coming the day of the wedding.

I have two locations and it's giving me serious anxiety! I personally have never been to a wedding with a change of location, so I don't know what it feels like to have to make that move. However (and thankfully), we're not doing a break so it's straight from the ceremony site to the reception venue for cocktail hour.

Everything is in one location thankfully! That was one of our main criteria when finding a venue.

We are getting married in an greenhouse-style event centre that has multiple sections so there will be room for the ceremony, eating area, bar and the most important thing - a dance floor!

One location! We’re getting married at a golf and country club and it’s up a mountain and it’s got this room with mostly windows for the ceremony. It’s got such a nice view I’m really excited. Then downstairs there’s a big room with a fireplace behind where our head table is going to be. I’m super excited!

Everything's at one location! We saved some money doing that since we don't have to transport everyone from two locations

We have two locations, a church and a reception hall. We wanted to be able to invite people to the ceremony only without it being awkward for them (i.e. having to leave when most people are staying). It's a five-minute drive between them, however.

Two! We're getting married in our Church and then having the reception a 15-20 minute drive away. We're also getting married on a Friday in the GTA around rush hour so wish us luck lol 😂

We went with one venue because it saved us driving around for photos, plus made it easier for our guests! But we picked a venue that had a lot to offer - a vineyard, rose gardens, an old chateau building...so we had lots of locations for photos on site Smiley smile

One! We lucked out & found a dream venue that has gorgeous grounds with lots of lovely trees, gardens, pond (with bridges) & an amazing modern barn! 😍

Hoping to do our ceremony outside by the water & trees then have cocktails, hors d’oeuvres & dancing in the barn/patio bar area. Oooh! Plus they have a bonfire that they’ll be setting up for us! Super pumped.

    One!

Beach front ceremony at a resort in my town, and then the reception set up in tents in a big field in the back Smiley smile

There's ocean, trees, horses, ducks, a river and accommodations for our guests Smiley smile Couldn't ask for more!
