Hello soon-to-be-wives!

How does it feel to say " This year I am getting married!!" PS: time will now probably fly by so dang quickly but that also makes it exciting!

Any big items on your list you still need to tackle? any road blocks? anyone coming out of a wedding planning pause and now ready to jump in now that it is getting closer to??

I remember I started planning so early and secured vendors which was great but then took a pause because it almost felt like I was deciding everything too soon so then 3/4 months before I went into overdrive and planning mode again Smiley smile Wedding planning really is a journey and process of details and emotions! ha Smiley heart

We are tying the knot on the 7th of October. Definitely booked all the vendors etc two years ago and then took a pause as of last July. Totally forgot that I needed to get a dress and started panic shopping in October. Took me two months to find one I even remotely liked and ordered at the beginning of December. Now to get the rest of the wedding party dresses, book flowers, get shoes, build emergency kits, and go for trial runs for hair and make up etc. Fiancé has the other stuff covered (dessert, favours, guest book etc) but I’m starting to feel like I’m going to forget something.

I’m getting married in Vancouver on June 16 and then we are coming back to Ottawa to have our reception on June 24 Smiley smile definitely stopped planning for a bit there and now getting back into the swing. Need flights to Vancouver still plus an officiant and to book our city permit to get married in Stanley Park. I’m not feeling too stressed about anything.

Hey! I live in Ottawa. I got my dress at Kimberly Wilson Bridal. I loved the experience so much as I had the place to myself and walked out with my dress! I also went to David’s bridal after that, but didn’t find the experience enjoyable. They double booked my consultant with another bride Smiley sad They did have a lot of dresses at many price points which could definitely be useful. My bridesmaids got their dresses at David’s so it wasn’t a wasted appointment

We are getting married May 13, 2023 ♥️💍
Super pumped. We have 2 venues, 1 for a small family only ceremony, and 1 for our reception and a big party.
I have my dress, got it in August haven’t received it yet but should be in soon. We have our bridal party and my bridesmaids and maid of honour just got their dress over the holidays (yikes) but we out a rush on it and they said it should be in on time. We have a photographer and I have my hair lady for my hair. We are getting my fiancé’s auntie to officiate the ceremony. Not sure where to go for me and my bridal parties makeup, might just go to Sephora.

Woohoo! Our date is Oct 14. We've got the venue and catering secured and are in the process of narrowing down photographers. Some decor has been collected and beginning of February I'll be visiting some bridal shops to look for dresses. I find the logistical planning to be easy and enjoyable but the decorative stuff to be much harder...it took us months to decide on our colour scheme!

Lol, can I ever relate! We are marrying in late April, and it seems so close. But the big stuff is done, the venue, invitations, (need to send, probably later this month). We are both seniors, and have been married before, so planning to keep things pretty relaxed, and a max of 60 guests will help, too.

I planned as much as I could right away! I'm getting married March 18th. I only have small things left and of course everything my fiance has left to the last minute 😂 men, am I right?

I feel really good. Until I think a bit and worry about what I possibly could have missed. Little things!

My fiancé is very fussy about how he looks in pictures so I’m leaving that to him. As for hair I might have my own hairdresser do it but I don’t know about where to go for makeup. Possibly either get someone I know who is a professional or go to a department store.

The tent is quoted and should be rented soon, the table and chairs will be rented tomorrow when I get paid, the guest list is finalized (still have yet to send out save the dates), I have my dress, we have our bridal party, we know what we want to do for wedding favors, the menu is decided, photographer is booked, makeup artist is booked, and hair stylist is booked

The most stressful thing by FAR is the fact that 2 weeks ago we moved up the wedding 8 months, so instead of having it in April of 2024, it's no August 18th of 2023. So I've done all this in the last 2 weeks

We have 2 kids already and a huge wedding isn’t in our budget right now. But having the same last name of my family is so important to me. So we decided why not! Even my cat has the same last name. I’m the odd ball out 🤣 we’ll have a couple friends and family but that’s it. We’re still dressing up and making it special too 🤍

I did everything super early, haha. All the deposits have been paid, my dress has arrived and the alteration appointments have been maid, and invitations go out in two weeks! ***I recently got a cricut, and I am never manually addressing envelopes EVER again***
We're getting married June 4th 2023 in Niagara Falls. Private ceremony (us and the maid of honour and best man), then reception with the family and friends.

Hmmm not familiar too much with Ottawa but I'm sure there are some brides on here who could help with that! Are you planning on getting your hair and make up done and having a photographer? because I feel like those vendors book up ridiculously early!

Oh no! Try not to stress and enjoy the process, it does all come together somehow and your guests will be happy just to be there to celebrate your love! Have you taken care of a lot of the big items?

I’m getting married on October 7th and so far I’ve only got the venue. I feel like I should have started looking at wedding dresses but I want my sister to help me choose but she can’t help until spring. I also don’t know where to look in Ottawa. My fiancé and I are going to look at wedding officiants this weekend.

    Congrats and Happy New Year!

Planning your team out early is great to know the big vendors are booked. Putting a pause on the plans does help to keep the mind on other things for the season or projects. The finer details are always easier to choose as you get closer to the main day.

Happy New Year. Christmas was my wedding planning break, Now I am focusing on sign prep, girls dresses, I have everything done, just need it to be closer to the spring to get the ball rolling again.

I feel the nerves coming but not much I can do closer to summer. EEEK it's happening.

Happy New Year Brides to be!

We are on a good place, so much so I am wondering if there is anything we have forgotten to do or book.

STD's being ordered next month then mailed in April, dress fittings will happen in June, suits will be sorted by then as well. Other than some decor DIY's we are all set...

Happy New Year! Yes, I totally feel the whole "putting planning on pause" thing. I got engaged in September of 2021 and booked every major thing within the first few months. I've been getting the little things in order but I definitely was on pause for a while because there was, really, nothing for me to do! My fiance and I are in the process of getting our rings right now as well as planning the honeymoon. I feel like once March/April hits then I'll start to really get back into it.

It seems so soon! I don't really have anything set in stone yet, but the venue will be decided this week, and then it's on to save the dates and asking people to be in the wedding party. A lot of it doesn't need to be done as quickly, like I know plenty of people who can make very beautiful cakes, and I have a few decorations from others I know, but the big thing that worries me is that I'll likely be working for a summer camp again this year, so that means the deadlines are more like June before I leave for the camp, rather than August when the wedding is. We specifically made sure there's be enough time after camps end and before the wedding to have some time to relax, and do any last minute garment adjustments with the help of my aunt, but it's a lot to do, looking at the checklist on here and seeing around 80 items left...

Hahaha I feel you! Its a tough balance not to nag but at the same time maybe mentioning it more will annoy your partner to just get it done?? lol I was all about being able to check the items off the list so can be frustrating when things linger but I'm sure it will all come together!! October is still a bit of time.
