With the new restrictions/lockdown(ontario). How are others moving forward?

Sascha, on January 3, 2022 at 13:09 Posted in Ontario 0 6
My wedding is planned for May. Toronto… indoor with 50 guests. I’m not sure what to think.

I’m also a front line nurse dealing with covid patients and while this seems very different than previously I’m really devastated and confused with how to proceed.
I just can’t trust that this lockdown will only be 21 days. I really do not want to my life/wedding on hold because this is never going away.

Thank you for doing what you Sasha as a nurse first off. Its hard to be know what comes out of the restrictions since its a mixed conclusions given by the government. It seems the more we feel we are getting out of this, it arises to be more and more harder. I do hope you get to celebrate your wedding without any more obstacles to face as the many couples in your position.

    Good day Sascha

we understand your frustration. I am also feeling confused and devastated, we postponed once in Aug 2021 and have been wondering should we postpone July 2022 date. But today i woke up and said let's just go forward and make the best of it. This can look the same in 2023 so you are right we cant put our lives on hold, Plus i have most of all my vendors already with deposits placed. So ladies of 2022 lets all pray we get our day the way we want it

    Hi Sascha,

I'm in the same boat.. our ceremony is booked for May 21 at our local parish (Etobicoke). We are still deciding on a venue. I want to forge ahead in the hopes that there will be some sort of indoor activity allowed.

I'm so sorry you're dealing with this Sascha!! The stress and concerns seem never-ending, and it's really hard to predict how things will look in a few months! I'm crossing my fingers and staying hopeful that things will calm down again after this post-holiday spike!! 🤞

Here's a few other discussions you can join with other brides who have also been sharing their concerns:

Losing hope of having the day we planned with never ending covid restrictions

So I'm confused? New Ontario restrictions

I totally understand you. Mine was suppose to be on October 2020, we postponed to May 2021, then it was supposed to be this Friday and had to cancel it to May 2022. We decided to do a small ceremony and get married in May 2021 as we did not know when it would end. I am doing the reception in May and hope that it will be okay given the new therapeutic pills and vaccination rate. I am so tired of postponing. Don't let this virus put your life on hold. If you can, get married and then party later. Smiley smile
