Hi my name is Kylie. I have been engaged for a month and a half but have been talking to my wonderful future husband about our wedding for 6 months. I love planning and my fiancé and I enjoy the outdoors and we have made our wedding around that.We are getting married in our cute little town by the river in a park. And having the reception at my parents property. As for me being a crazy planned my wedding is next September and I already have ordered my dress and I have picked out my invitations and centre pieces.

I know I would move there in a heart beat if we were wealthy enough to fly our family out every year

I think going away in the winter is a good idea- get away from the cold! And New Zealand looks beautiful...an friend of mine went backpacking there for 6 months, and she almost didn't come home because it was so great!!

It won't be our first trip- but it would be the first one involving a plane. We have done lots of road trips to the states and across the province, but never been able to swing a full blown holiday in the sun.

I'll have a look at those dicussions but I can tell you for sure: no camping on my honeymoon!

    Hi Kylie Smiley heart

New Zealand is such a beautiful destination! Smiley love Have you been there before?

I wanted you to meet Larissa, she's also going for a botanical/whimsical theme and I think you could exchange ideas. Smiley smile Maybe you could comment the ideas she shared in here:

Would you have a food truck at your reception?

I also created a discussion to give you more ideas for your wedding:

Can't wait to read which ones you'll prefer!!

I love your wedding invitations!! The design is absolutely beautiful and so dreamy! I really like the idea of the silverware tea and moss. Your centerpieces actually remind me a bit of Alice in Wonderland... Is that the idea you were going for?

We are doing the same thing kind of we aren't going to really go on a honeymoon right after we are going to finish our work and then hopefully go away in the winter I would love to go back to New Zealand. And I think the coconuts and cliches sounds wonderful for a first really vacation.

That is very generous of them- don't fight it! LOL- my parents are helping us out a bit too! I just have a fairly big family on my mom's side, adds a lot of people, and my fiance has a step mom and her family too. Our guest list got big without even trying!

No honeymoom plans yet. I think we might do our honeymoon for our first anniversary instead. Will give us time to recover from the financing of the wedding! And you know, I hear the first yer married is the hardest, so maybe we can celebrate making it through Smiley winking When we do go I would like to go somewhere hot. I've never been on real vacation before, so I want coconuts and cliches!

    Are you planning a honeymoon?

Well my parents actually insisted on paying for the food and drinks. Which I so tried to fight but they are stubborn. So we are most likely having a fully stocked bar as well. But we are only having around 45 guests. Just mainly family and very close friends. My fiancé and I are very much home bodies and therefore didn't keep in touch with very many people. I also moved away from my home town 3 years ago and was traveling the year before.Speaking of traveling do you have any honeymoon plans?

We are having an open bar- 99% decided on that- we toyed with doing drink tickets, or a limited bar with only beer and wine available to save money, but decided that we wanted to go the whole way with the bar and trim budget in other places (I'm doing a LOT of DIY and projects to keep things in check).

We are inviting just over 110 guests to the reception, but unfortuately due to distance we expect only about 75-80 to attend. How about you?

A pig roast! I am salivating. I think your plans are great- but i can see where a tent might be tricky!

We are doing just appetizers for the first hour of the reception- the menu will change a little becasue the restaurant uses local things, but we are thinking sliders, crab cakes, mini mac an cheese portions- classic comfort foods, but it is a fine dining restaurant, so they amp things up a little.

Later in the evening we are having a build your own pasta bar, still not totally sure about how that will work, but our venue coordinator assures me it is lovely and she can show me a set up in our next meeting! I like the pasta idea to slow the liquor people are sure to be drinking!

I defiantly does sound like our taste are very similar. We are going for a relaxed wedding feeling. I am also doing the flower clown idea and I love the wildflower bouquet. As for the tents I'm not to sure because we live in the valley and my parents house is built into a hill. So we are trying to figure that out. As for food my mom and I are going to do salads and we know someone who does a pig on a spit.
What about you? Are you doing just appetizers?

The park we want our ceremony in is by the waterfront, right in downtown toronto, and has beautiful gardens that I think will be blooming wonderfully for our June wedding. I'm wearing flowers and herbs in my hair, and having a "wildflower" look to my bouquet. The restaurant we have rented for the reception is in a trendy neighbourhood with some great locations for "classic city" pictures. The restaurant has this lovely "living wall" of vines and plants in it that fit the theme so nicely- I couldn't have designed it better myself!

I am so envious of your reception options! It sounds fantastic. Will you have tents do you think? Are you going to have caterers for a meal, or a food truck even? Are you looking for very formal, or a more relaxed feeling? I am so excited to hear how your planning goes, because it sounds like we have similar taste!

That sounds beautiful. I love the cocktail reception idea. How are you going to incorporate both aspects of nature and the city?Yes it will be a lot of work but it will be nice because we won't have to rush to get it up or to get it down. I'm not sure how we will set it up yet there's still discussions about that.

We are having our ceremony in a park in the city for a small group, and then a dance an cocktail reception in the evening for a larger group of family and friends.

We are trying to combine the natural and city in our ceremony, because we love both!

How are you thinking of setting up at your parent's property? I imagine it will be a lot of work to set up things, but you have so much freedom to do it just as you like!

No I wasn't surprised we talk about everything. The only thing that he kept a secret was the ring. I don't have a picture of the centre piece but it's a silverware tea set and then with moss around it and slivers of wood as hot plates.
