My fiancé proposed to me on our 6 year anniversary trip to Mont-Tremblant on October 23rd 2021. He got down on one knee in front of the fireplace in our hotel room, told me he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me & asked me marry him.💍

We got engaged on January 1, 2022!


Funny store, he had already planned to do it that day but by total fluke I planned the whole thing for his Christmas gift! I got him tickets to see the patriots on Jan 2 and Celtics, so we headed to Boston for NYE. Luckily we did so, as everything back home completely shut down. He wanted to do it at midnight but where we were watching the fireworks, it was was very muddy. So he waited until we got back to our hotel room. When we got there I started making his life difficult (unbeknownst to me)! I wanted to wear my PJ’s and take my makeup off and he had no idea how to tell me to stop without me asking what’s going on. We then proceeded to pop our champagne (we buy one every year on New Years) and he made personalized glasses for us then got out the ring and told me he didn’t want to spend another day in 2022 without me knowing he wants to spend his life with me. It was funny, awkward and perfectly imperfect in its own way! 💕

Technically, we agreed to get married in July of 2016 and sent out the engagement announcement via photos at the original house they filmed the Texas Chainsaw Massacre in. But after a few years I decided she needed a proper proposal.

So I did what any good fiancé would do- I found her a bumblebee themed engagement/wedding ring set and got down on one knee in September of 2019 while we were getting our photo taken with her idol- Weird Al Yankovich- at Rose City Comic Con while dressed as My Little Pony with a ring box shaped like a poke-ball.

I caught a ring.
We went to our favorite spot, he told me to reel the fishing line in for him because he needed to pee. When I looked at what I caught, it was a group of rings... I caught a ring.. wait then I turned around and there was the real ring and the go pro set up. Magic!

We got engaged August 13th, 2019. Not sure if that date if accurate but that’s what it says on Facebook (can’t remember if I changed my status when we got the rings or when he asked lol). He just asked me one day while we were sitting on the couch.

We were engaged December 25, 2019! Our wedding was postponed from last summer! I have faith we will say our vows this July.

He had the ring hiding in his tackle box in our living room for a whole week leading up to our Thanksgiving camping trip in Algonquin park. The first photo is what the sky looked like that morning of Saturday, October 9, 2021. We went out in our canoe after breakfast and I was taking in all the beautiful scenery saying things like, "Wow look at that isn't this perfect? Could this get anymore perfect??" Not realizing I was setting him up for the perfect moment to get on his knee in the canoe and ask if I wanted to spend the rest of our lives together ❤️😭💍. Our dogs almost tipped the canoe when I started to cry haha.

My fiancé and I got engaged December 20th, 2020. Apparently he had asked my parents way back in summer for my hand and they’d been waiting every call I made to say he finally asked. 😂 He knew how he wanted to do it for a long time and kept trying to hold out on asking because we were all meant to go back home to Scotland near the end of the year. He desperately wanted to propose in a castle, but with covid the trip didn’t happen. So we had gone on an impromptu mini vacation to Niagara Falls and walked through the Festival of Lights and popped the question! When I tell you I cried all the way back to the hotel up Clifton Hill, I mean I CRIED. I was just so freaking happy and caught off guard. People must have through the were crazy - one with tears running down her face and the other grinning like an idiot all the way beside her! 🤣

We got engaged on May 8,2021. He did an amazing job planning it out, with the dock all lit with candles and a beautiful dinner. We’re sober so we toasted with sparkling peach juice 🤣. Mother Nature even cooperated and sent two beautiful cranes swooping in, landing on a branch and then flying off. He said “well if that’s not a sign I don’t know what it” got down on one knee and told me how much he’s loved our life and is grateful I came into his. When I said yes fireworks went off in the middle of the lake (his poor friend was freezing in the canoe waiting for the signal!”
He has my ring custom made, rose gold in the shape of a flower to honour my mum’s ring.
It was so incredible and I love our story. I’m enjoying planning our wedding and all the little things adding up to it 🥰
