Best: check Facebook buy and sell for used things

Worst: decrease guest list to save money. While it is true, we have limited our list to family and close friends so not sure how else we could decrease it!

The worst advice I got was "it doesn't matter how much it costs since you're only doing it once, right?".

Best advice I got was "if you find something you like that is really expensive, there is probably a cheaper alternative that looks just as good because you aren't the first budget conscious bride".

I'm actually not sure if I've received any money advice from anyone. I'm so thrifty that they're usually telling me to spend more money LOL. Although I did have friends say things like, you don't need to spend money on x. Nobody will notice which is actually really helpful because it keeps things in perspective.

The best cost saving advice came from my florist: "If you can get 2 or 3 uses out of 1 item for your wedding - do it and save your money." My florist is amazing and has been fantastic with helping me get the bang for my buck, especially with regards to my flowers and decor. She helped and is helping me plan out which ceremony decor and floral pieces can be used during the reception and throughout the rest of the venue, which has seriously saved me tons!

The worst cost saving advice was not really advice, but more of an opinion - someone told me to not look at any pricing while planning, because "it doesn't matter how much it is if you love it." This was bad "Advice" for me because I did not want to waste money on things that would only be used for 30 minutes out of the entire wedding.
