What Day of the week are you getting married and why?

Megis, on April 26, 2018 at 08:15 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 26
Getting married on a Friday. It's because our ceremony is a city hall and they are only open on weekdays. Also chose the date because it's before the long weekend. We can plan something nice for the anniversary for this weekend.

Sunday in September- its the busiest month so Saturdays were out (even over a year ahead). We are doing it 5 hrs away as a mini-destination so guests would most likely need at least one day off anyhow. Sunday seemed easier than Friday so people could travel up Sat if needed rather than rushing Thurs night after work or first thing Friday. We gave over a year notice with our STD's and it;s small with our closest friends so the turnout should still be good. Other vendors had availability which was a bonus because the town we are going only has 5,000 people!

Saturday! That way, most people don't have to ask for alot of time off work, and people who are travelling in from out of town can come in for the weekend.

We’re getting married on a Saturday! Since it’s off peak season it was just as cheap to get married on a Saturday as it was during the week. So we picked Saturday to make it easier on the guests.

We're getting married the August long weekend as well but on the Sunday. We choose that because a) it's a long weekend so the majority of guests won't have to work the next day, b) it's cheaper per person at our reception venue, and c) we have a lot of OOT guests, and this means they can stay in town longer to celebrate with us.

We are getting married on a Saturday. We had a specific date in mind and it just so happens that day is on a Saturday this year, so that’s what we chose. We went with Saturday because it’s the best way to ensure most of your guests will be able to come.

    Saturday.
Sunday is typically our "relax" day and often times a day we use for sports. As most of our guests still have to work and whatnot, we don't think it's right to keep them up too late (or possibly hungover!) if they have work the next day.

Sunday afternoon - easier to get the venue and at a much lower minimum spend!

We picked Saturday. We have a blended family, and we have all the kids on the weekend, so we chose a Saturday where the kids are settled from the Friday changeover and we still have a day afterwards to unwind!

I’m getting married on a Friday. My initial plan was to have it on a Saturday but I saved a substantial amount by switching it to a Friday !!

We are getting married on a Saturday morning because I work during the week and taking the following week off. After our brunch we can go return his rented suit. Then we can go on our honeymoon

Saturday... because it made the most sense for us (all day to get ready, full day of travel to our honeymoon the next day before the cruise leaves on Monday), also there was no price difference for day of the week at our venue. We don't really have out of town guests... and they ones that are, are really out of town (like out of country), so they are coming in for a full week anyways.

Saturday, because it's easier for everyone (especially since most people are from out of town, and some of them might still need to take the Friday off if they don't want to leave at dawn the day of or drive at night).

Friday here too! Worked a lot better as we were very specific we want to be married on a 24th of a month, and in spring is better too!

Also venues and things normally give off season pricing on Fridays as well so we've been able to save a bunch too!

Saturday, since people only had to take one day off work (if they were from out-of-town). All of my family lived quite far away (8 hours drive) so it made more sense to do a Saturday for them to be able to come.

We got married on a Saturday. We chose this day because it would be easier for everyone, including ourselves, as we were getting married 3 hours from where we live.

We’re getting married on a Saturday. I think we’re just so used to Saturday weddings and most people don’t have to take the day or weekend off work.

We’re getting married on a Sunday! It’s right in the middle of the May long weekend, so it gives people time to get there on the Saturday and get home on the Monday if they’re from out of town. It also gives us time to set up and take down.

Yeah didn’t realize it’s a good way to get rid of obligatory guests. I have a small wedding party and 1 obligatory guest. She’ll be pressured to show up though.

That's really smart to plan for future anniversaries! We chose a Friday too. It allows our guest more time to recover from a big party, and, not to sound awful, but it will keep away guests that we only invited out of obligation who won't want to take off work for us. Also our venue only had dates available on Fridays in our wedding timeframe, but we wanted a Friday anyway.

My FH sister got married on a Friday too and it was great. Yay for Friday! Smiley laugh

We are getting married on a Saturday. It is the easiest day of the week to get everybody into one place. Our venue doesn't change a fee for the location (just cost of food/drink!) so that wasn't a determining factor. Smiley smile

We are getting married on a Saturday just because it’s easier for everyone to be able to attend on a weekend. We were looking at getting married on a Friday if it meant cheaper rates but the venue we chose was a flat rate no matter when we booked.
