Would you rather... book an all-inclusive venue or be able to pick your own vendors?

Would you rather book an all-inclusive venue that provides everything and all of the vendors your need for your wedding - but you have to use their list of wedding vendors?

Or - would you rather book a venue that is more of a "black space", but you have total vendor flexibility when it comes to booking your caterer, photographer, florist, and more?

Which venue would you rather book?

Initially I wanted to book all of my own but it's annoying, time consuming and didn't make sense financially. With everything coming from one vendor I've been able to talk prices down so far, so there's my vote.

I would rather an all inclusive as it will be cheaper and easier when booking vendors for availability.

Pick my own! I want to be able to pick things we really want, that will also fit within our budget!

This one is so easy! I would definitely rather book my own caterers. Every venue that I have spoken with that does all inclusive charges an arm and a leg to use their "executive chef" and if we want a different DJ than what the would provide we would also have to pay a fee for not using them...

Ah either one would be fine with me. We didn't really use many vendors. It was really important to me to chose the officiant however, I would never have just anyone!!

We have an all-inclusive. I think there is a chance of less headaches that way, and I prefer it.

I'd rather pick my own vendors. Otherwise I'd feel like my wedding was at the mercy of whoever the venue had included.

I think I'd rather pick my own vendors. There will always be one vendor that you don't really like.

Blank canvas. I would want to have a say in who I use and there people might not suit my style or interest

I’d rather pick my own. I couldn’t handle not having a say in those decisions. Especially the photographer.

I’d like to say all-inclusive but I’d be nervous having to use the provided photographer.

I’d rather pick my own vendors, and actually that was a deciding factor for the venue we chose. We were either going to go with a venue that had preferred vendors (although they should have called them mandatory vendors) or the one we ended up going with which is a “venue and a menu”!

I did all-inclusive, with the addition of a few vendors. I lived across the country from where my wedding was held, so the fewer people I had to deal with the better!

I'm currently picking my own, and living so far away from where we will get married kind of sucks so I'm going to say all inclusive.

I'd rather pick my own but, that is only because I would want control over my photographer. We've chosen a semi-inclusive venue: food, bar, ceremony/reception site, decor, etc. are all included but, I get to pick my photographer, etc. So convenient.

I've seen venues where it's turn key, and I've seen a complete DIY for everything... I need it somewhere in the middle. My venue has a day-of "coordinator" (not a full coordinator, but she handles the stuff the venue does: food, bar, servers, table/chairs set up, linens, place settings, gift table, signing table, podium, AV equipment, etc). But I am picking the photographer, DJ, officiant... So I guess I'm more leaning towards all-inclusive, but I want to be part of more planning than signing a contract.

I’ve been picking my own vendors. It is so much work that sometimes I think I’d rather have an all inclusive venue, but I really do like being able to pick what I want.

All inclusive, our venue provides a lot of stuff: catering, decor, bar service, day-of coordinator, all fees paid for (i.e. SOCAN) but we still have to find our photographer, officiant and dj. I'd rather have it all decided for me!
