There is a staircase that I need to walk to get into the ceremony space, so that I will walk myself and then my dad will be waiting for me at the door to walk me the rest of the way.

I will be having my step dad walk me down the isle. My biological father has not been in my life at all, unlike my step-dad who has been with me since I was 2 months old. If by any chance my step dad won't be able to walk me down the isle, I will have my mother walk with me.

I think I'll be walking down the aisle with both my parents. I want to include my mom as much as possible, especially since my dad will have his moment during our mother/son-father/daughter dance.

I would love to just walk myself down the isle but I feel like that would break my dads heart so i am having him do it.

But I’m hoping to put a little twist on it where he stands just inside the doors to the church and I’ll be outside with them closed so when they open I will walk into the church by myself and he can walk me to the end of the pews and I’ll walk the last few steps myself.

My dad and my grandfather are both walking me down the aisle. My dad and I didn’t develop a relationship until I was about 19, as I was raised by my grandparents and great grandparents. If my gran was still around she’d be by my side, so I’m hanging a picture of her in a locket on my bouquet.

My dad and my step dad. Both have been such a big part of my life, and I have had my step dad in my life since I was 3 so it doesmt seem right not to have him walk me down the isle with my dad ❤

My dad will, I'm a daddy's girl and he means the world to me. He won't admit it but walking me down the aisle means a lot to him! I don't see it as him "giving me away" since my current situation but it was definitely a tradition I couldn't get rid of!

I could probably use some advice on how to work all the people walking me down the isle. So I grew up in a single parent family with one of my brothers who we have the same mom. My mom was always going to walk me down the isle and my one older brother who I grew up with. Over the last year I have been improving my relationship with my dad and I know I want to include him too, I’m just not sure how to fit all 3 people in unless I had my mom and brother on one side and my dad on the other.

My uncle is walking me down the aisle. my mom died when I was 1. and my grandpa that raised me (I called dad) passed away. this uncle is her brother and his son. so I get a part of them that way.

I feel the same way! I kind of want both my parents to do it, but when I was little I imagined it just my dad, even though it has the whole: women are men's property connotation to it Smiley atonished my FH is thinking about walking with his dad, that way it seems less "giving away" and more "we'll always be family" Smiley smile

My dad will be walking me down the aisle... I was really hoping to incorporate my step-dad somehow... he's been in my life for 20 years and I grew up calling him dad, too.... But I really don't want to upset my dad. I think I may have 2 father-daughter dances instead.

My father will be the only one walking me down the asile. I spoke to my mom about this (in case she wanted to walk me dwn the asile as well), but the traditional aspect of it is just something I really like.

Such a hard decision! On one hand I want my dad to walk me down the isle because that's what this girl dreamt of happening on her wedding day. But on the other hand it is now looked down upon by some people who don't like the concept of the whole "giving away" thing. So I feel like I should have both parents walk with me because they both played an equal part in making me who I am - but it's just always been in my head that my dad would be the only one because "that's how it's suppose to be". Ughhhh! Help?
