Which came first - Designing your save the dates or designing your invitations?

Let's talk stationary. The cards you mail to your guests will be their first impression of your wedding. You want them to look nice, be informative, and reflect the style of you and your wedding. Which did you design first?

Your STDs?

Invitations only, since that's all we'll really be doing!

We did them both at the same time - vistaprint was having a sale so we literally bought everything except thank you cards...

We created our STD first, as soon as we picked a date and had the venue booked we sent them out. we did invites about 4 months before the wedding as we had out of town people

Although I haven't made either yet - I will most likely try and find something like an evite for the save the date for those who have access to a computer and will make the actual invitations afterwards.

I actually designed our save the dates 1st via VistaPrint. I then took the matching invitation to our save the dates and designed them to coordinate with the save the dates we did. We used one of our engagement photos on our save the dates, they looked amazing.

I designed and made the STD myself, but they were a very simple card since we didn't have engagement photos done yet. Invitations have just been ordered and I can't wait to get them!

Neither? We're still in limbo between getting our STD's ready and figuring out if we want them to be cohesive with our invitations or just be their own style.

Invitations. We were not sure if we wanted to do Save the Dates or not initially, but knew the invitations were a definite. I wanted to design them so I started ASAP.

Save the dates were first. We had them before Christmas. We are now just waiting on our invitations... should be getting them in the next few weeks.

STD’s picked out first - template on Etsy.

BUT we’ve decided to go with Appy Couple so we’ll revise the STD’s based on what they offer.

We’ll be personally calling guests and then sending an email with the details, so no paper invites for us!

Our Save the Dates were done about 6 months before the invites.. so they were designed first!

Save the dates! They were sent out 6 months before the invitations so it only made sense to work on them first

We aren't doing save the dates... We are getting married mid-January... anyone who doesn't live in town has been told the exact date, for travel time. Everyone else is starting to figure it out/ask... otherwise we are just sending out our invitations a slight bit earlier (4-4.5 months out).

My bridesmaid is doing this. She will design the save the dates first as those get sent first, then she will stick to the similar theme/look for the invites.

We didn't do save the dates, so we chose our invitations, which were cute passport style invites to reflect our travel-theme.
