Hi! I just got a custom dress at JJs house.com. It was a risk ordering online but in the end it all worked out because I only had 5 months to plan the wedding and find a dress. I actually went with a lavender dress! Alterations cost more than the dress and all in all it came to just under $600

I stayed in my wedding dress the whole time. It was beautiful and cost enough that I figured I should get more than a couple of hours out of it.

I stayed in my wedding gown, but I know Modcloth has a whole bridal selection now with some cute shorter dresses that are really pretty and definitely under $500

I'm staying in my wedding dress, but I have heard good reviews from Light in the Box.

Or something more in budget and still of great quality can be found on saks as well as the bay maybe?

I am not doing an evening dress, just staying in my wedding dress for the reception. However you might be able to find some really nice dresses on netaporter, or the outnet and so on. Every time I want to go big on the dress, the first thing I check is the outnet, as it has netaporter pieces that are off season, and then netaporter.
