When you have a meltdown over menu options

Zoë, on May 23, 2017 at 07:05 Posted in WeddingWire 0 24

Hi everyone!

Next Step 8.

A really important step is to decide the meal plan.

Did you have a breakdown?

Do you already know the menu for the big day?

I think ours will be pretty easy. We are doing buffet, so the only things we have to choose are the meat(s). We have decided on a two meat option, just waiting for the final menu from the venue. They offer some gluten and dairy free options, so those will probably be the ones we choose, which will make it simple for us. I am really looking forward to the tasting though!

That we already have down, the hall gave us our tasting menu before we even signed on the dotted line. they wanted us confident in our choice of venue before we put a deposit.

We're doing buffet and I just need them to do a vegan option. Then it's done.

I've recently had 2 small breakdowns. They were sort of over menus but more in terms of getting them printed and cut in time, as well as all of the other little things left to do.

This was our biggest challenge... We had a very hard time finding a caterer at our budget for the amount of people we need to feed.

We know what we are getting for the menu, just haven't 'finalized it' yet. I had a caterer drop me because someone else had a larger sized wedding found out via facebook. Found another caterer that includes a lot of stuff in their prices besides food which made it much better than the first one.

Menu was a breeze. We love it so much!! The venue makes their own food so its really easy. We got to customize it to our liking and it's delicious!! I'm more excited about the food than the wedding lolll

No meltdowns, though I am constantly rethinking things. We made a choice of two items, but I'm trying to decide if I should add a third with the prices we were quoted.

I didn't have a meltdown at all. We had read the options before our tasting and pretty much knew what we were going to pick so we had no issues! And everything tasted great! Smiley smile

I had no concerns over the menu. When we met with our caterer he was very knowledgeable and flexible which is good. I was a little preoccupied with our menu as we have a few people with allergies and celiac disease but our caterer said he is easily able to make those accommodations.

Menu was one of the easiest parts for us! We tried two different meals because we were originally going to have 2 options. But we didn't like one of them and so we decided to stick with only serving the creamy garlic chicken, caesar salad, bean and carrot medley and dinner rolls!! We also decided on a dessert buffet so guests have different options to choose from there Smiley smile
