What are your opinion on party favors? Do you plan on having them?

I honestly don't know what do give out as party favors! I want something the guest can keep and remember. We have a videobooth, but I was wondering if it was necessary to give out something else. I have no idea! What are you girls doing? I know some people don't give them at all.

    Hellooo 👋🏾
I really wanted to give a wedding favour as our wedding. So I had a family friend that bakes cookies. So I thought about a calendar cookie with our name and date on it for the favour. It came out amazing.

I did not want to spend a lot of money on favours. Also, she did it for free and refused to take any money.

I’m not doing them! I’ve coordinated weddings in the past where a lot of time and money has gone into favours and they get left behind at the end of the night.

For my wedding I’ll be having a photo booth so guests can take those pics home. If you really do want to do favours, do something edible!

This!!! As much as it seems cute to the couple themselves... The majority of people don't want it... I have so many and I feel so bad getting rid of them but I don't use them and it just clutters my cupboards. Spend the extra money on something to make the wedding an even better experience for guests. That goes a really long way.

I personally don’t think they’re needed. Often times their Knick knacks that end up in the back of a cupboard. No one really wants something with your name or date on it. If you decide from something personal make it a consumable (your favourite jam, honey from the local farm, Tylenol for the morning hangover)

At our reception we’re having a fire outside, so for whoever would like to go sit by the fire will have some throw blankets with our last name and the day we got married. As well we’ll be having little s’more bags for everyone to go and roast them by the fire.

At my wedding we will be doing wedding favours. The gift will also play as the name place cards. I am going to be making custom wine glasses with everyones individual name on them.

Hey! I know a lot of people that have decided they aren't needed. We decided to do them because both my finance and I love tea, so everyone is getting a little bag of tea. I think if it's something meaningful it makes sense, but don't do it just for the sake of doing it.

Lots of great ideas! Personally, there are very few favors that I think are worth the money. In wedding I've been to I loved tiny boozes, plants, and one couple made jam. Very cute.

We are planning on growing some plants for our table centers and they will be favors for those who want them. Also if I get on it, I want to make handmade place cards that are watercolor and ink calligraphry. Good chance time gets away on that but would be nice if I can.

The video photo booth is a great idea! and enough.... sometimes favours are left behind and I like the idea they can keep the photo.

My Fiance and I are doing a small wedding about 55 people and I have made little packets of coffee with the saying "the perfect blend" Coffee in the morning means so much to us so its a little touch. I also have a mason jar cup personalized with everyones name (i got on sale and personalized myself/ 1/5 my decor and stuff I have made with my cricut) for people to use instead of red solo cups kind of thing.

Valid points there! Yeah food waste is one of my pet peeves. I do see a lot of waste in weddings unfortunately.

Wow you did a lot for your guests. That's great!

I think the photobooth sounds awesome and their meal is more than enough personally. We had one of our photographers running our photobooth so they got a great photo with their thank you card (and emailed). We also had open bar and a 4 course meal, as well as welcome bags at the hotel. We felt all of this was more than enough to thank our guests for celebrating with us. As a guest I never expect a favour on top of everything else either. I think the idea of favours is outdated and a waste of money. Food, fine but how much more food do guests need? Lol. Even when it is food, I see a lot left behind. I've been to so many weddings and the favours is not something I remember, ever... except the succulent escort cards because I killed ours obviously shortly after 😂.

You girls are right about the whole favors that could be drinked or eaten. I did think about giving an alcoholic beverage that's known in my Haitian culture called "crémasse". It's a sweet and creamy alcoholic beverage native to Haiti. The beverage is made primarily from creamed coconut, sweetened condensed evaporated milk, and rhum.

My aunt could help me with that. I would have to put them in these little bottles with tags.https://pin.it/5o7iSg9

I'll check that out or skip this all together haha
    Thanks!

My uncle is gifting us handmade gourmet chocolate from his store!

But someone could do this in a inexpensive way! And everyone loves chocolate so they will for sure be eaten

    Here’s what we’re doing

    These are the actual chocolates

    https://www.instagram.com/p/CJHg5YRgkS1/?utm_medium=copy_link

These are the boxes and I’m getting labels made off Etsy with “love is sweet thank you” and our names

    https://www.etsy.com/listing/603480851/love-is-sweet-sticker-personalised-party

Here’s what could be done, easy to get this stuff at Michaels or the dollar store

    https://pin.it/5dHAiyP

    https://pin.it/4SRJh44

It’s not something people can keep but consumable is good too because then you know it will actually be “used/liked”

I wanted to do this idea before my uncle gifted me with his chocolates so it kinda worked out! But this could be easily done I think!

A videobooth is a 360 camera that makes a video of the guest. You can add music on it after you receive by text message. I guess it could be a Tik Tok idk I'm not on there 😂

Curious, what's a video booth and how does it work at a wedding? In my head, I'm picturing people standing in front of a camera making TikTok style videos that gets emailed to them lol.

For us, we gave out bottles of beer but in many weddings we've been to, we've seen couples give out wine. My brother in law gave little packets of Lindt chocolate. Basically anything edible/consumable will be a bigger hit than a trinket with your names and date on them.
