What are you wearing to the reception?

April, on April 27, 2018 at 13:03 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 26

Are you still wearing your wedding dress? My wedding is going to be in our garden, and the reception in the same place. We will have a gazebo fire, etc so I'm a little worried about getting the dress dirty, and his suit dirty. But I also want to wear it to the end of the night, so we can undress from our special day together. I don't know why, I just see that as a really special moment. We are going to bed in our bed, we don't have a room or anything booked, so I just feel like that moment will be special. But I'm not sure what to do!

Yeah you don't want to ruin your clothes. If anything you may want to change for the reception or change to safer decor. Does it take a lot of time to get into and out if your dress? There's something nice about letting your significant other undress you regardless of the place.

I want to wear mine the entire day. Definitely will for the ceremony and reception. Like it's a special day and an expensive dress. Afterwards we're just heading out to an airbnb for the weekend. I may have to change before getting in the car. It all depends on weather.

I'm wearing mine all day! I'm only going to wear it once so might as well get my money's worth! Even though I am a huge klutz and will probably have some sort of stain on it... that's what dry cleaning is for! I did think about wearing the dress I am wearing for the rehearsal dinner, but then I have to go and change which could take some time lol

I'm wearing it all day! I wouldn't worry about it getting dirty; it could get dirty just from walking around all day since there is always dust in the air and on the ground from other people's footsteps.

I bought a second outfit. We're just having a low key dinner at our home (Chinese food).and I can just see soy sauce being spilled on my dress.
I bought a black assymetical "flowy" jumpsuit that I can definitely wear again. And I also kinda think the contrast of changing from all white to black is kinda cool too Smiley smile

I’m going to wear my dress all day and night hopefully! We’re having a regular dance and a cultural round dance so at that point I’ll be putting on a sweater thing over top to cover my skin as I want to be culturally respectable

Wearing my dress all night! It will be the first and last time I probably wear that dress, so I want to wear it for as long as I can because I love it!

I don't really know, whether I'll stay in my dress all night or change after the father/daughter dance. Depends on budget, if I still have some funds left for a second (less expensive but still pretty) outfit.

I haven't bought my dress. Tomorrow is the day! But my plan is getting a trumpet style for my ceremony and an Aline dress for reception because I have to be able to dance for my 1st dance plus we have a surprise dance.

Farm wedding and there will probably be a fire but I’m wearing my dress all day and night! I don’t plan to stay long around the fire if there is one or two (we have two fire pits on the farm I can see people gravitating to) but I can see your concerns. If I were you I’d just be super cautious and wear it all night anyways.

    Ok lol,

My dress was $250 so I'm not so worried about the price, as I am worried about his amazingly awesome suit. ITS SO HAWWWWT!!! And I would be so sad if it ended up with burn marks in it from the fire!

All day! Im not pating that much for a dress to not wear it!

Our while wedding will be a backyard outdoor wedding with propane firepits (municipal fireban will be on sadly). If my dress ends up dirty at the end of the night it means i had a good time haha Smiley winking

All day!!! No way I'm spending 1-2 grand on a dress and only wearing it part of the time...

Make sure the bustle really lifts up the back of the dress, and just get it dry cleaned after! And try and get all your photos done before you start wandering around the fire pit Smiley smile

I agree with all the above. I'm wearing mine all day, and will dry-clean it after the wedding. It's a once in a lifetime day and you should enjoy it to the max without worrying about dirty clothes, that way the dirtier it is the more memories you have I think

I wore my wedding dress the whole day. We had a fire pit and stuff and I hung around there for a while. The train and bottom of the dress got really dirty but everything else was fine. You can have it cleaned and preserved after.

I’m wearing my wedding dress all day. I don’t think you should worry about it getting a little bit dirty. You’ve bought it specifically for this day. And you can always get it dry cleaned after the wedding. Just have fun in it and enjoy your special moment with your new husband at the end of the day.
