Wedding Website: Necessary or Not?

Lynnie, on December 17, 2018 at 09:05 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 27

Is your wedding website a crucial place for your guests to find information about your wedding weekend, your registry, accommodations, and more? Or is it not necessary?

Yes, as an organizational tool for me mostly. It's a nice perk for our guests, but I need streamlined planning that's clear and accessible for all of us.

For us, not completely necessary but I'm sure as the wedding starts to approach I will utilize it more.

Lots of info to share, and not wanting to muddle up my invitations/have multiple details cards... so necessary for us.

We also did e-RSVP, so definitely necessary.

Necessary. Things like registry I don’t believe in putting on the invitations and the website also allowed us to share information about our city for visitors.

Not necessary for the most part of the small details privided on the invitations. Computer savvy i would find they would use it for them.

Not necessary for us. A lot of people are more traditional when it comes to wedding invites etc. I also like having the paper copy of any RSVP informatioN!

We are doing our RSVPs through it, but will include return envelopes for the elderly guests and printed info!

    It’s crucial for us.
I was really against the expense of invitations, so the website is detailed and informative as it is, and we used AppyCouple, so our save the dates and invitations are all electronic.

No, but it’s a very nice addition and there’s plenty of free & easy to use places to make one (here on WW being a great example) that I definitely recommend making one!

Necessary depending on how you are doing rsvps. so can be not necessary. but sooooo helpful!

for us. we are doing online rsvps. so it was easiest to do it through a wedding website. and we have a fair amount of out of town guests. so its a nice place for them to get all the info they need in 1 spot.

I think it's useful! I know I check out the websites of weddings I attend. Thats where we put what type of bar we are having, our kids rule, that we don't have a hotel block...

Not necessary. But we are in the process of setting one up for people to refer to for details as we have changed the date they were all told.

Not really but also kind of for us. We are doing online RSVPs so we just did a full website for fun.

Not necessary! But it's a get for having details available to guests! Also being a huge cost savings for RSVPs!

Not necessary, but has all the details guests could need in one spot! It limits the amount of times guests call you/your family asking what time the ceremony starts and where it is (hopefully! lol). Some older guests might not get much out of it if they're not computer savvy, but lots of our guests will find it helpful

I don’t think it’s nexessary, but it is helpful to list additional details, provide a direct link to the registry, among other things!

Not necessary, IMO, if the bride/groom are doing a full paper invitation suite and RSVP. We have a very basic wedding website, because we will be asking our guests to RSVP online and we wanted to keep our invitation simple.

Not necessary. Especially for elderly people or less tech savvy. I also just like the feel of invites rather than an electronic one.

All of the info will be on our invites so for us it’s not necessary

Yes, only because our wedding is not local and we wanted our guests to know the hotels in the area and any details about the wedding. The guests will have access to the website when they receive their save the date cards which the website provides the ceremony, cocktail and reception time, the hotels and transportation etc.

Not necessary. I made one because I was bored and genuinely enjoy making websites. Since there will be some older guests that are not internet savvy we have to enclose all the information about the wedding and accommodations and stuff with the invitation anyway.

Not necessary but I love them! It's a great way to keep everything accessible for your guests in case they lose their invitation or don't have it on them. Plus people my age aren't really on Facebook but the generation above me aren't on Instagram so this is a perfect place that both will see.
