Wedding Website Ideas

What are your must haves for your wedding website?

For me I really like having the RRSP available on the website for my more tech-y guests. I made my website on the Knot and really like how easy it is.

My husband is in tech and had enough knowledge on how to make our own. It wasn't free as we had to pay for the domain name, and there are templates that we chose from as to what sections to include. I wanted the RSVP section, I wanted a link to my blog, and I wanted nearby attractions/restaurants/accommodations for our out of town guests.

I also made my wedding website on the Knot. I love how user friendly it is. My favourite feature is the RSVP , it will make it easy to track and give you a good idea on how many guests you will actually have. I also added FAQ’s so we aren’t bombarded with questions from everyone about the same thing.

We haven’t sent out any invites yet, but I have everything ready to go. My website is made on wix.com (website I’m comfortable using) it’s going to be connected to a wedding specific email I made so that the responses are sent to that, and I’ve made a spreadsheet on google docs. The spreadsheet has the name of the guest, their general age (toddler, child, teen, adult), their email info, phone number, their rsvp, additional notes (food allergy or anything else worth noting). By having the spreadsheet I can quickly take a look at who I have yet to hear from . I think it’ll be the best way of going about this rather than trying to rely strictly on the websites way of keeping track, I also just like having my own list :b

Hey, if I get topped up on my RRSP for every RSVP on my wedding website, that would be pretty sweet! Smiley winking

RSVP is a must to keep track of who responds as well as events with dates and venues for guests to know what is happening.

Websites created by my cousins included tabs of the couple story, pre events and wedding venues of times and locations map underneath each one. RSVP was another tab as well as the hotel accommodation provided directions from the airport or uber.

An FAQ is a great idea. I definitely don’t want to clutter up my invites.

Yup I agree, an online RSVP tool is a must! I think it will be great fun to receive the instantaneous replies. I’ll also have a fairly extensive FAQ page, schedule of events, etc. as I’m not including a physical details card with the invitations. Those are probably my key components but other cute ideas include wedding party bios, a little primer on the couple’s love story, some photos, and so on. If a couple has a registry (or registries) I would also expect to see that info/the pertinent links on their website.
That’s great to hear you didn’t have any difficulty making yours. I think a good template is key!
