Wedding Veils?

Bridget, on April 13, 2018 at 22:36 Posted in Wedding fashion 0 21

I was wondering what style of veil everyone is wearing? My dress is an A-line, sweetheart neckline. Does anyone wear the layered veils anymore where the first layer can be worn over the face?

My veil has a blusher but I won't be wearing it in front of my face! It's the veil my mom wore so at that time blushers were the in thing! My dress is also A-line with sweetheart neckline. The veil I'm wearing is cathedral. But, I also purchased a fingertip veil before I knew I could wear my mom's veil!

This is mine (The lacy piece on my head will be coming off!)

the new big thing in terms of veils...it's a veil attached to rails (i think), flies across the room & lands on the bride. i know it's a tad off topic, but what do you think of this?

I went with a fingertip-length veil for my wedding!

One of my bridesmaids (who got married 1 month later) wore a layered veil for her wedding! She didn't have the blusher over her face, and just used it more for volume for her cathedral-length veil. Here's an example picture where you can see the layers:

    Hi Anne!

Keep a look out for sales happening at bridal boutiques all across Toronto! There was one last weekend (sorry I forget the name of the shop but kept hearing it on the radio) and they had 80% veils and accessories! Probably your best bet!

I for sure want to do a double layer I love the style!

Not sure about the edge of if I will want a plain veil with some stones to sparkle through it (we are doing a starry night theme)

I'm waiting to get my dress in to make sure I can match the colour before I go buy anything!

Where is the best most affordable yet acceptable quality cathedral veil to buy from within Toronto or online?

My sister wore a double layer one two years ago when she got married and it was gorgeous. Mine is a single layer fingertip veil with lace edging. I say go with whichever one you like best, regardless of whether it is common.

I wore my mum's veil at my wedding. It was almost to the ground and this is what my dress looked like:

I did a one-layer fingertip length veil. Mine dress was A-line as well with a sweetheart neckline. If you want to do a two-layer than go for it! There are different styles for different people, so go with whatever works for you!

I’m wearing a veil with a comb that is short with some crystals on it, it’s one layered. I wanted something simple so it does distract from my dress

I’m hoping to get a dress I can wear a cathedral length veil in. I love the long veils so much, they’re just gorgeous, especially down the aisle!

I am wearing the train off of my moms dress. I didn’t want a veil. I’m not a traditional bride. But the train is gorgeous it’s a cathedral length train

Yeah! People still wear them! I’m wearing a double layered fingertip length veil. It’s pretty plain, but very classic looking. And you can wear it over your face if you want. It’s your wedding! It doesn’t matter whether it’s common anymore...you do what you want! Smiley smile

    Hi Jenn.

Yes I thought about a cathedral or long sort of veil but I am getting married outside by the lake and I'm not sure how windy it might be?

    Hi Holly,

Yes I love the layered look too where it scallops in the front but not sure about wearing it over my face.

I know lots of people are wearing that style still, my friend who's getting married this year for example. Although she's not going to put the blusher over her face at any point.

I have decided against wearing any veil.
