Wedding Transportation

Marcia, on May 9, 2018 at 15:30 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 19

How have you brides choose your wedding transportation? I'm still not sure if I will need transportation as the bridal party will be getting ready at the venue, and our ceremony and reception are at the same location. I was thinking we might use a golf cart since our wedding is at a golf country club. We are trying to keep our wedding cost low. But haven't decided yet. What are some of you brides choosing to do? Will you be transporting your entire wedding party? Or is transportation just for you and your fiancé?

Our venue was local and chose to skip the transportation for its cost.

We left transportation up to our wedding party. We decided to save money there. They will have to get from the getting ready location to the ceremony but that is all. Reception is in the same place and pictures are nearby.

We rented a school bus just to get the wedding party from the venue to pictures and back. It's only costing us $230 for it. It's way cheaper than renting a limo or a coach.

We got married at a church in Lakeshore, so it was quite far from the casino, and we did photos somewhere in Lasalle I believe, so definitely put in quite a few miles that day. I love the bus idea, been to a few weddings with a bus before, and certainly very fun.

If everything is at one location. I wouldn't bother with transportation. if you are going to another location for photos. then the polite thing is to provide transportation for your wedding party.
we are renting a city bus. its unconventional. but its more affordable than a limo. and bonus no limit on the amount of people in it (so we are inviting our wedding party's significant others if they want to come).

We're getting ready at the venue (attached to a hotel) but we will still take a limo to church and back again!

I would LOOOOOOOVE to rent a lambo for photos and as the get-away car with my future husband but they are just too expensive... and lets be honest no one can fit in that thing in a wedding dress hahah!

We got ready at our venue and the reception was there as well. We were also staying in a trailer on site so at the end of the night we just walked to our trailer. Nothing fancy here lol. If you don't need anything, save yourself the money as weddings are expensive enough as it is.

We're going with a limo. The girls have to get ready at my house and then the limo takes us to the venue (30min away) for my hair and make up. It will come back at the end of the night to pick us up so we don't have to can or drive. Its also taking home my FMIL, MOH and BM. So it worked out well for us.

If you don't need specific transportation, then this is an easy place to save some money!

On the other hand, I really love some of the wedding golf cart decor I've seen on pinterest:

We’re getting one limo because I have the beauty of getting ready less than five minutes away, so the limo is going to bring my fiancé to the venue then make two trips to my parents’ house to pick the bridesmaids and myself up. Whole trip is less than an hour.

We looked at a limo but it was ridiculous (Almost 750$ for the 2 hours we needed, and yes, I tried calling multiple companies). We'd still have to find transportation to and from the getting ready venue and to and from the reception!

Instead, we are renting two large SUV's to transport the wedding party. We've asked one groomsman and one bridesman who don't drink to be the drivers for the day!

Our ceremony and reception are about 10 mins away from each other. We are going to drive ourselves in our truck to the reception and then cab home at the end of the night if nobody can drive us.

All our photos will be done before the ceremony at the same location (and nobody will be drinking yet) so after the ceremony we will go straight to the reception. Wedding party will have to drive themselves and i thonk most of them will be pitching tents and camping on the reception site.

This is something I'm still undecided on! Our ceremony location and reception venue are within 20 minutes of each other so I'm not sure if I'll be providing transportation period tbh. The majority of our bridal party have SO's, therefore they will be driving anyway, so really not sure what I'm going to do.

I looked in the suv limo but it’s $1000 for 5 hrs. Someone suggested using Red Car Service. So I called and they quoted me between $150 and $250. So I’m thinking that’s the way to go.

I think this is an area that you can really save on the budget. Golf carts are so fun too! Unless you need to go somewhere for pics and your photog isn't driving i wouldn't bother personally- I'm very happy to not have that extra thing to worry about myself either.

My ceremony was about 30 minutes away from the venue I was getting ready at, so we chose a limo bus for both getting me to the ceremony and afterwards the wedding party back to the reception area. We loved it, but if we were all in one place, I wouldn't have spent any money on transportation. I like the golf carts.

My bridal party and I are getting ready at the hotel that we are having the ceremony and reception at. We are also staying there that night. BUT we need to rent a limo so we can leave to take pictures.. I love the golf cart idea. If we didn’t need to leave for photos, I wouldn’t rent anything lol
