Wedding shoes - looking for comfort and style :)

Isabel, on February 3, 2018 at 19:28 Posted in Wedding fashion 0 28

Hey ladies, really looking for suggestions. Having a hard time picking out my wedding shoes. I've got my eye on a pair of sequinned pumps but I'm a wimp when it comes to foot pain and I'm afraid of getting shoes that will be uncomfortable or worse - just downright ugly. Looking for suggestions on what type of shoes are the most comfortable yet stylish. Would love any type of feedback to help me narrow down my search. Thanks and happy planning!

Those look like Betsy Johnson and she has THE cutest wedding shoes! Mine were from her as well. They can be pricey, but if you catch them on sale, you can usually get a good deal!

Oooo Thanks Jackie! I like the idea of a platform heel - they tend to be quite comfortable compared to regular heels and yet just as stylish! I'll have a look around for these styles Smiley smile

Just the same issue, and getting married on spring, still don't know what to wear! Sandals? tennis shoes? Flip Flops? Boots? All flat? 2" taller? Smiley ups

Go for a wedge. You get the height of a heel without the discomfort since the whole bottom is flat!

I'm going for a comfortable pair of cowboy boots that I already own. I'll be getting them dyed and adding some bling to them! I know I can dance all night in those bad boys!

If you have a pair of shoes you already know are comfy all night you could bring them to a shoe person and maybe they can be modified to look like some bad ass new shoes! Smiley smile

Same! I actually had originally told my mom i was just gonna go barefoot the whole day and was looking at getting 'barefoot sandals'. But then i found a super cute pair of flats that i will wear for the ceremony but will probably ditch them for the reception.

I got married outside and wore a really small wedge heel shoe. I got them at DSW so you might want to go check them out as they have a ton of selection and frequent sales.

Not sure if i'll be going heels for the ceremony. I blister really badly with heels. I have yet to find a pair that don't draw blood/blister so i might just stick with these. My dress is such that they probably won't be seen at all anyways.

I am going to be wearing flats so that I don't have to worry about uncomfortable feet on my day! I saw the cutest pair on pinterest and I'm going to try to find something similar!

Thanks so much for the feedback ladies. Thanks Jen889 for the suggestion of having two pairs of shoes on hand. I’ll definitely also be checking out those gel inserts Courtney - I’m not brave enough for 4in heels but I’ll probably rock a comfortable 3.5in - thanks for the tip Smiley winking

Our wedding is going to be very rustic and country, so I opted to buy myself a brand new pair of cowboy boots!

I’ve just started looking for shoes and these are some styles I’m looking at. I don’t usually where heels, so something like a wedge I think might be easier and give me the height I need as my fiancé is 6’3 and I’m 5’2. The first shoe would be my first pick.

Haha! Same. It was flats or barefoot. I don't normally wear heels so the ceremony and pictures will be enough for me.

I think it depends what kind of shoes you normally wear to be honest.

For example: I knew I preferred a 'bootie' style heel. I feel much more secure when a shoes is firmly fastened to my foot. I also typically wear 4inch heels since I started dating my FH because he's over a foot taller than me. Because of that I've gone with these shoes:

You can also buy some gel inserts for the ball of your foot to be more comfy.

Typically wedges are also a great idea cause they can help distribute the weight a bit more. I think having a pair of flats for later in the night is a great idea too.

I'm doing two pairs. I have a pair of glitter silver pumps for the ceremony and pictures. I'm buying another pair of flats for the reception. This way I'm comfy for the whole evening but look stylish for photos
