Wedding plans: What have you left to do?

Nelly, on October 1, 2016 at 11:25 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 32

We just booked all of our vendors. Our wedding planning is done. Other than having to agree on seating arrangents, and finalizing our wedding ceremony which should be done within the next few week ends when we will be done our Pre-Cana.

All that's left for us to do is table and seating arrangements.

What have you left to do?

Hey, we get to choose the options ourselves. Our guests will get to choose between the three options we decided on which are a prime rib, a pickerel and a chicken and shrimp dish.

Our tasting is in November. We're having our reception at a hotel and chose to have a sit down dinner. We get to choose 2-3 options of each entree, soup, salad, and dessert, plus a late night snack. The catering menu is huge so many different chicken, beef, fish and veggie entrees to choose from. Same with the salads and soups. So we're having a hard time deciding. They have a great head chef. I'll definitely create a group discussion.

Awesome! Our tasting is in November as well. We have to choose 2-3 entrées, salads, soups, and desserts from the big menu, then our guests choose on the rsvp which entrée. Lol having trouble deciding from the big menu. Haha so many choices!

Our venue does tastings in November for couples that have booked for 2017. It will be buffet style with everything that's on the menu. We're also having a sit down dinner.

Hello Everyone! How goes the planning? I'm wondering if anyone has done their tasting for their reception dinner yet? Mines in a few weeks and we're having trouble deciding what to taste. We're having a sit down dinner. What kinds of things did everyone choose?

Oh the purple highlights never left (it's my signature look Smiley winking ), but I won't be "freshening them up" until about a month before the wedding though

Haha love the picture! I found 1 place I like and I'm working on booking a trial (gotta find a date first). Everyone will be getting ready together since I'm having hair and makeup come to us, so it makes things easier.

    Thanks for the link

    Hi Nelly Smiley heart

Pre-Cana can definitely bring up some interesting topics! It's so important to communicate and it makes you think of so many aspects you might not have thought of before. Smiley smile

I'm sure you discussed a lot of topics and questions that could be really interesting. What would be your best advice you learned in Pre-Cana so far? Maybe you could start a discussion about it Smiley smile I'd love to hear what you have to say about it!

How to deal with our large families and how are we dividing week-ends, some couples spend Saturdays with one side of the family and Sundays with the other. Some couples spend every Sunday alternating families. Do we only visit siblings when other siblings are visiting and that way we kill 2 birds with 1 stone, and that was something that we had never discussed. The topic of love making and intimacy also came up. We are both virgins and haven't done anything but holding hands, hugging and kissing. The topic of different sex drives came up, and different positions until we are comfortable sexually with each other. So our pre-cana gave us topics to comminicate.

There's a lot of talking about making marriages work and the importance of respect, faithfulness, loyalty and self-growth. We also talked about money and how the majority of divorces happens because of lack of financial communication. We have our retreat next week end. We're really looking forward to it.

I'm not very familiar with pre-cana, I understand it is a pre marriage "class". What is involved?

I only need to book our ceremony space- the City of Toronto won't issue permits for park weddings until Nov. 1. That part is making me crazy! But that will be the last "big thing"

Beyond that is is only hair, bouquet, song selection and details like that. I'm not finding the process very stressful, but I do attribute that to having a small wedding. We don't have to worry about bridesmaids, groomsmen, seating plans or large menus. Most of the decor and flowers will be made or grown by myself and my mother.

So convenient! Oddly enough my usual salon is in the city I'm getting married even though I live 2 hours away, but her price for doing my bridal party was too far out of everyone's budget, so I unfortunately had to look elsewhere

    Hi Nelly Smiley heart

I am so happy you two are helping each other with wedding planning and doing all this together! That's truly amazing! Smiley heart

How do you find your Pre-Cana?

I know that Olivia was wondering whether she should do it or not with her FH.

    Any thoughts on premarital counselling?

Would you recommend it to other couples?

Our wedding planner helped us finalize our flowers and decor. Now she will only be involved as the day of co ordinator.
