The way that I see it is... when you ask someone to be a part of your wedding party you’re literally asking them to fork out cash for a dress, the bachelorette, hair and makeup and spend lots of time hearing about the wedding and adding in effort to help and planning etc. I get us brides need to pay for a lot but it’s the least you could do if you’re asking someone to cash out for your wedding... long winded answer but YES I completely did it for my bridesmaids. Each box was approx 120$ to make and they deserved it !

I think they're in between, depending on your wedding party. I did it because I knew they would totally appreciate it, but we made sure to do it in a way that reflected our relationship with these people

I skipped this step just for financial concerns. I made cute little bridesmaid proposal e-vites and sent to my girls. My FH asked his groomsmen over text. We were so excited to get our team together that we didn't want to wait and have to figure out proposal boxes for them, especially with all the wedding costs to come. And they said yes! We are planning on doing thank you gifts after all their hard work, though Smiley smile

Overrated, but definitely can be fun if you don't over do it.

Overrated - I'm already spending about $400 per bridesmaid for gifts, robes and paying for hair and makeup, adding another expense and having to think what to buy is too much! Two of my bridesmaids live in different cities anyway so I just gave them a call to ask them.

Overrated. I think it's more about sharing time.

Overrated. The big ones are a bit out of this world sometimes. I say sticking to something simple is best. Less is more in my opinion!

Overrated! This gesture is unneeded due to the basic of asking the person straight up to be standing up with you at the alter. Plus the cost is adding onto the budget unnecessarily.

Overrated! Weddings are already so expensive and we've added another one. If I were a bridesmaid I would rather the bride spring for a spa package or help pay for bridesmaids dresses for her girls.

I think the really extravagant ones are overrated! I like the idea of getting a small token (a bracelet, tie clip) along with it but some of the boxes can get insane!

Over rated. I don't really get why everything has to be so elaborate and involve buying *stuff*.

I'd say the extravagant ones are overrated. I did something very very small for mine

Overrated! They look really great and can get way over the top but I don’t feel they are necessary. My fiancé took his BM out for a beer and asked him that way, and I asked my MOH over one of our regular get together.

Overrated. Spending a ton of money just to ask the people you love to be in your wedding seems insane to me. If anything, a small token would suffice.

I think it's over the top and overrated but I still thought it was nice enough to do for my sister. If I had a larger party, I probably wouldn't have done one I don't think.

I think they can get overrated for sure! I sent candy grams to my bridesmaid (because they all live out of town) and that was simple enough. I really love the done up proposal boxes, but I think some of them can get pretty crazy!

I'd say overrated. The more simple ones with just a gift box or whatever are cute. It really is a nice gesture, but some people take it too far and make them into really big dramatic things that are possibly more about making a good instagram post then showing appreciation to their chosen party member.

Overrated - If you have a smaller wedding party it's more affordable but these wedding proposals add up quickly! My FH and I did small cards that cost less then $1 each asking our friends/family to be part of our wedding

Overrated - but very much appreciated!! I did one for my girls and would 10/10 do it again. The wedding party gives so much of their time and/or money (or at least they should) so it's a nice bonus for them when you ask them to be a part of your wedding party.

Overrated! Unless you live hundreds of miles from your bridesmaid/groomsmen and don't see them often. Then it's a nice way to ask.
