I used basic invites. A lot of different templates that you can customize yourself or just fill in the details yourself. Pretty good prices and you can get a free customized sample before you put in your order. They also offer free matching websites if your looking for that.

We did ours from Vistaprint. Super cheap and always great deals! They looked very professional too, so definitely worth the cost. We also ordered our Thank You cards from them and some stickers to add to our candy bags. Great company!

So we ordered our save the dates through vista print. We did postcards that way we saved on envelopes for the save the dates. For our invitations I bought pocket envelopes at a dollar a piece, it was through a stationary store were they where having a sale. I plan on doing the inside myself.

I would take a look at Vista Print if you're looking to save a bit of money. I don't know what the quality is like, but we plan to order our STD's from there, so going to determine from that if we like the quality for our invitations.

I ordered mine off Etsy and I’m really pleased that I did. It’s nice to support small businesses, and many artists have the option that they will customize a design for you and then give you the PDF so you can print it yourself (cheaply) at a print shop.

Do you already have a template made? If not I'd definitely suggest Vistaprint. They have nice basic designs for you to choose from but you can also upload your own. And staples is great too!
My bridesmaids is designing our save the dates and invitations and I'll be buying handmade paper for her to use for them.

I'm using Staples Print Centre. Great layouts, inexpensive normally, but you can also wait for a sale (30-40% off whole order).

Vistaprint and Zazzle are always having sales. Costco is also good.
