How about something like bird seed favours? It would kinda go with your nature vibe and will last from the fall through the winter (depending on how hungry the birds are!). I considered them myself because I think they're so cute.

yeah I wasn't sure being in September if it would be a good idea to give out seeds/trees as they very well could go to waste with winter approching

That's lovely we are doing a rustic theme as well.

My FH and i are giving cupcakes as favors. We couldnt choose between two cake flavors so decided to do one for the cake and one for the favor lol people love edible gifts.

Our wedding is in September as well (this year though). We are giving out mason jars filled with homemade granola/trail mix. It may not suit every wedding theme - ours is rustic so it's perfect for us. Something like this:

We had gold bottle stoppers for our engagement party and I've even received messages and pictures that people love using them! So that makes me happy! Favours that just go directly to the garbage are a waste of money, in my opinion. Would also go with something consumable or something they can use that's practical! Seeds are lovely idea, we thought of those as well, but if people can't plant them then they will go to waste.

Our friends gave trees out at their wedding and most people I know didn't really have anywhere to plant them so they eventually died. I think something consumable like a spice rub or candy or chocolates is a better option.
