Wedding favours....Yay or Nay? I'd like to give something to my guests, is this per couple or individual? I have a rustic theme, any ideas? Help!

I'm following with my theme, and also making it edible. People get use out of it, they don't lose it, and it can end up being less expensive! (DIY stuff)

I am having a January, formal, winter wedding. I saw TONS of Pinterest pages saying to have hot chocolate or s'mores bars... which I thought would be super expensive... then I found out my venue offers a s'mores bar for the dessert option (Woohoo!), so I'm going to do hot chocolate favours to round out the theme.

I'm going to glam them up with a bit more of my colours/ribbons/personalized "thank you" sticker, but I think it's just the right balance for my guests.

When I was looking at favours (take home gifts), I found that I was wondering the same thing about individual/couples/family numbers. If it's something a household only needs one of (bottle opener, etc), then I'd do one per household, but edible items are definitely individual.

I would suggest an edible item! One per person. If you go with an item, I would suggest something people can use (candle, kitchen gadget etc) and then have it one per couple/family.

I’ve always been a fan of something your guests can use, not little things that are just going to collect dust. Edible items are great, I’ve also seen cutting boards, stove spoons (so you can lean your spoon on not to dirty your stovetop) and donations are very popular as well

We are just going with a little treat! We wanted something edible as most favours given nowadays are never used. We are doing a s'mores mixture that we are making ourselves and we bought little tags that say "There is always room for s'more love" on them.

Love your idea of a food type favour and donation.

A rustic wedding I was at gave each person honey! It was in a little jar that had their letters: E & A meant to Bee. Or something like that. I’m doing individual food-type favours and a donation to a charity/foundation.

Definitely do a wedding favour! I think it depends on the favour as to whether or not it has to be individual or as a couple. We’ve gotten custom wine, picture frames, and similar items as a couple, while we’ve gotten things like shot glasses and edible items individually.

Definitely do individual, it always seems nice when you don't have to share! I did a candy bar and personalized M and Ms at each seat. They were expensive but totally worth it, and I knew they would disappear since it was a food item.

I like Becky's ideas. Homemade jams are easy to make in bulk and will save you tons of money as well. I've helped make a few batches for my cousin, and it's super inexpensive. You can always find something local as well if there's someone who makes soaps or honey near you.
