Wedding favors

Kate, on February 24, 2017 at 14:25 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 14

I am trying to figure out wedding favors for our guest. I hate those white candies. I was thinking little trees, some of my guest don't have a place to plant something like that. so maybe some help of what to do. something that doesn't cost a lot of money either. Dollar store ideas would be awesome.

Our center pieces are rented, so letting people take them wouldn't work out so well. I'm sure I'll come up with soemthing. Thank you for all your help..

Hi Kate, I do like you idea of giving plants to guests as wedding favours. For our wedding, we thought about giving shot glasses, keychains or something practical. I remember Emilie posting a discussion a while back on weddings that features plants in it as an alternative. There are many ideas you can chose from and we are giving any sweets as well, our reason is to give our guests a momento to remember from our wedding. All the best!Smiley smile

Why do you need favours? I'm skipping it and donating to two charities - at the wedding people will have one chip and they can put it in a jar to choose which charity their "favour" will go to.

Well anything sweet is out of the question, only because everyone has issues with sugar and I don't like the fake sugar subs, they cause cancers. Dietbetic family is a hard thing when it comes to sweets. Thank you All for your input, it means a lot to me.

I'm personally not a fan of plants because if your guests have to travel at all they probably won't take them (too messy), and I kill all plants so I just wouldn't take it (plus wouldn't want it to fall over in my car and make a mess).Edible ideas are usually good because everyone will take candy/chocolate. My favours only cost about $0.20/each

I agree with Melissa! Plants like succulents that come already potted could be great!

Something edible is always great too because like she said, you can buy in bulk and they usually eat it there so they don't have to take it home or worry about forgetting it. We did Purdy's hedgehogs because they are our favourite and most of our guests were from the US so they'd never had Purdy's before. Luckily for us, our wedding was indoors so the chocolate didn't melt but a friend of mine had an outdoor reception and did Hershey's kisses and they were all melted by the time we got there so we just left them on the table... So just make sure if it's edible to plan accordingly!

Well you certainly don't have to give candles it you aren't crazy about them!

I tell everyone that I think chocolates are a great favour, because you can buy them in bulk for reasonable prices, and most people enjoy them! I think the little plants are cute too- have you looked at indoor plants like succelents at all?
