To be honest, if you're willing to go faux flowers, you can probably rent that somewhere for half the price. They will come in, set it up and tear it down afterward and take it away.

Hiring a team to set up a rented backdrop will be less headaches than buying the materials and doing it yourself. And some venues require anyone rigging and setting up large pieces of decor to have liability insurance.

My fiance and I aren't using anything for a backdrop. Our ceremony has a beautiful background as well as for our reception. You might be able to make it for cheaper if you find the right material for the right price. See how much it would cost first to rent compared to making it yourself then go from there
