Walking Down the Aisle Song

Alexa, on March 31, 2018 at 20:11 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 19

So I fell in love with a song to walk down the aisle too. I texted my bridesmaid about it asking her opinion of it. (She is getting married in November , I am getting married in July). Well turns out that song is her wedding song. Do I still use it for walking down the aisle?

Song is Ruelle - I get to love you.

I see no problem in using it at all. Even if you both use it in the same way it has different and special meanings for each of you.

I agree with the others, an instrumental version for walking down the aisle is probably more suited for the ceremony, a little more elegant, and it won't take away from you.

Also, if you're friend is going to throw a fit over it, that's not your concern. You picked it without knowing, so you were never being malicious in 'stealing' her song. It's your wedding, don't make compromises on things that are important to you.

I think it's fine because you didn't know it was her song when you chose it. I think the wedding's are far enough apart and I'm guessing the guest list will be different. Even if there are a lot of the same people attending both, I doubt people will think that she copied you.

Well knowing that she's making changes because of others' choices using an instrumental version might be a nice compromise. I think it's great of you. I also think that instrumental is nicer at a ceremony then just streaming regular music Smiley smile We only have a song with lyrics for our exit.

Thanks! I found an instrumental version and it still is very pretty Smiley smile My fiancée agrees but he said all my friends are petty which is true. She changed her whole wedding colour palette because her sister in law had the same colours just different shades and her sister in law is getting married in June so didn't want to make it seem she was copying.

I think you should use it if that's what you love. Or as a compromise (if you are looking for one) find an instrumental version mayne. When our officiant asked us to pick our cremeony music, I came across the Piano Guys! They take popular songs and make them instrumental! So I'm walking down the aisle to the song 1000 years by Cristina Perri! I love it!! I like that there are no lyrics and just the music for the cremeony! It sets a different tone I think! Good luck!

I think you should still use it. You both love it and I don’t think it’ll change that for her especially since you’re using it in different parts of your weddings

Yes for sure I want no regrets. My original choice was Kingom Hearts -Dearly Beloved but I have lots of instramental songs in my wedding ceremony and since my recessional will be dramatic with lyrics ( I believe in you by Celine Dion and Il Divo) I want something dramatic and beautiful for my grand entrance lol Plus all my processional is piano based so fits perfectly lol

That's awesome! it is a beautiful song I just am worried her opinion of it will change since I am walking down the aisle to it. when she listens to the song she might start to remember my wedding day instead of her love for her fiancee. What are your other choices? Lol I can't find anything to compare to ruelle I get to love you for walking down the aisle lol My first dance is Over and Over Again Nathan Sykes.

Use it! If you fell in love with it then you should use it. My friend is getting married shortly after mine and if we end up using some of the same things I'm ok with it. Mine is first so it's a little different but even if hers was first I would still use what I want in mine.

Yes for sure still use it! You fell in love with this song and honestly you may regret walking the aisle to any other song, especially if you've already envisioned yourself walking to it. It's not a big deal that you both love and want it. Just proof that it's a great song!
