Visiting our venues

Marie-Claire, on May 16, 2018 at 17:13 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 4

We'll be visiting our church and reception venues this weekend. Since we live quite far away from where we're getting married, this might be our only chance to visit, so I don't want to forget anything.

Here's what we're planning to do:
- Taste our meal options
- Look at the reception hall and decide what kind of tables we want and where we want to put them
- See if the church already has decorations that we could use, and if they have a sound technician
- Look around for good spots to take pictures, indoors and outdoors

Are there any other things that really must be done on site that I'm forgetting?

Ah okay! It sounds like you have a good grasp on what you need to do when you go visit your venue!

Yes, it's been booked for a while, we just didn't get to visit it in person since (although I've seen it before for other occasions).

Have you already booked your venue? If so, is this just a "check up"?

Check where receptacles are if you plan on having lights or anything else that needs to be plugged in, if you plan on hanging anything from ceiling, seeing what’s there to hang
Check for parking, washrooms, how close they are to the venue and if you should have signs to direct people to where they are
entrance you and fiancé will enter for ceremony ( where you will wait if you don’t want to see each other before ceremony)
where guests can enter/exit both locations and whether or not you will be using a different door ( for example, our venue the wall opens up, so we will open that up for guests to enter, then close it and we will enter via a closed door)
