Venue recomendations

Lianne, on February 15, 2017 at 09:17 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 6

Hello Brides-To-Be Smiley smile

I'm recently engaged and yes I'm already starting to look @ venues because those tend to book quite fast, thus to not waste time I've started making contact for a few places. The one I originaly wanted has unfortunatly been booked on the date that we had picked. I would change date but it wouldn't mean as much to us if we did. Any suggestions or tips on venue booking? or any recomendation in the Ottawa/Orleans region woulb be greatly appreciated thank!

Hi Leanne!Congrats on the engagement Smiley smile
I concur with the poster below who suggested Strathmere. I'm getting married there in October and they've been so great and organized and it's beautiful there. They have 3 different venues on site to suit however many guests you need to accommodate.
    Good luck with your planning!

Welcome fellow Ottawan! Most of the museum's in town will let you hold a wedding there, Bean town ranch is worth looking into, Mackenzie-King estate, Billings estate, bearbrook farm, the Shaw centre, Chateau Laurier (probably costly), Chelsea winery, Wakefield is a pretty place and not super far as is Perth. Also check with hotels in town and even restaurants. There are so many hidden gems in Ottawa for weddings! Also, if you find a place you like it never hurts to just ask them about hosting your wedding there and see what they say. Good luck in your search and if I think of anything else I'll let you know ☺

At one of the museums? My cousin got married at an aviation museum in Vancouver. Her pics were amazing.

In Gatineau Park? On a cruise boat in the Ottawa river or Rideau canal?

    Congrats!

I don't have any recommendations in your area, but being a bit flexible with your date will really help you in finding the right venue. But I just wanted to say that your wedding date will become a new important date for you, regardless of the days previous meaning. Why not celebrate 2 things!
