Veil or no veil?!

Bethany, on November 8, 2017 at 19:23 Posted in Wedding fashion 0 35
Who is going to wear one and who isn't? I'm torn!! Lol but I'm waiting for my dress to come in so I can try pairing it with either a veil or a head piece. So many decisions!!!

Yes I've heard of some brides doing that! But I've heard from the receiving line after the ceremony that some brides are giving hugs and the veil gets pulled back and pull your head back with it lol. I think I'm going to go with the veil but we will see!

Totally respect that! I love the look of a veil but some of the ones they put on me just looked ugly lol. They just cut off abruptly and didn't have that flow look that some have. I just bought one from another bride and hoping the look turns out but we will see!

I just bought one and hoping it works! But definitely understandable in your case!

Ah I love your veil!!! It's beautiful! I think my problem was I tried on some veils that were finger tip length and they just cut straight across and looked like it was so nice and then abruptly stopped. I just bought one though with some nice details so I'm hoping it works!

I have one but not using it. I'm looking for an earthy look not traditional.

No veil for me. When I got my dress the lady at the store put one on me to “complete the look” and I actually didn’t like the way it looked. I’m going for a larger pin/hair accessory instead to use.

I loved having a veil, it is what made me feel like a bride, way more than my dress did. I did some getting ready portraits without it, wore it for the ceremony and pictures, and took it off just before I entered into the reception.

I'm undecided. I'd like to wear my hair down, but I think they look best with a low bun or half-up bump.

My MOH told me she'd always pictured me with a birdcage veil when I got married and I haven't been able to get the thought out of my head. I wasn't going to wear a veil at all, maybe a headpiece of some kind (clips or something maybe? Idk I'm not what you'd call "girly" so I haven't got a clue what they're called lol) but since she said that I think that's the route I'm going Smiley smile

I was sure I wasn’t going to, but now I’m not so sure. I guess when I find the dress I will decide.

That is adorable!!! And yes I definitely know what you mean! I tried on some veils when I bought it originally but I think they just gave me the wrong style and that's why I'm so torn haha

I wasn't going to wear a veil, because I have short hair. But then my grandma gave me hers to wear (she wore it 52 years ago)- and my hairdresser was able to make it work. I was soo happy I wore it and the effort it took to bring the colour back. but it definitely brought the look together and mean't a lot to me and my grandparents. My grandpa said he recognized it as soon as he saw it! Smiley heart

I wore one and I really loved it! It added some texture and whimsy to some photos and it was sentimental in my case since it had been my mum's.

I would say you definitely need to try some on with your dress and make a decision that way. I didn't originally want a veil, but then I put one on with my dress and fell in love and I also felt more bridal. I also got one of the veil over our heads photo and it is one of my favourite photos!

I'm planning on wearing a veil. I think they are pretty. I also want to get one of those under the veil shots.

You totally will know once you try it with the dress! Also there are a lot of different options for veils so if you do want one im sure you can find one that would suit the dress Smiley smile Have you already bought your dress?

Totally makes sense! Mine is in a Catholic Church but they aren't too strict on things. Haha I'm indecisive but my mom will be seeing me with it on for the first time (as she lives in a different province) and she is very good at helping me decide.. Haha with extra emotions and tears I imagine... Lol happy tears of course!

Yes totally agree!! My dress doesn't have a whole lot of detail on the back. I'm actually contemplating a nice hairpiece headband and a veil but I'm still contemplating.

That's awesome! My dress has a lot of detail on the front but not as much on the back so I'm a little unsure but once I get my dress in, I should know ...at least I hope lol

Yes I've heard of brides being hugged and it snapping back there neck because of the veil being pushed down by people's arms, but I'm torn! Lol it's so hard to tell!! Haha I hope when my dress comes, I'll know right away.

No veil for me... Im going quite nontraditional and it isnt a good fot with my dress or style. Also i think it would annoy me. But i think they are beautiful on other brides!

No veil for me as well, because we are doing a civil ceremony and the dress is extravagant in its own.

I'm wearing a veil. My friend did a veil for the ceremony and tiara for the reception. That way, the veil wouldn't be in the way for dancing etc. I think it depends on the dress too. If the dress has a dramatic or detailed back, a veil would hide, or partially hide, that.
