Use it or lose it? - Videography

Use it! I want to capture every moment of a day that flies by so quick.

Lose it. My FH and I were honest with ourselves that we are mostly likely never going to watch the video, so the extra thousand or two for it could cut down the wedding budget or go to something else to make the day more special.

Not going to hire a videographer. I don't think anyone actually watches them. We have a family member who has a video camera if he wants to do it he can or he can just enjoy the day with us. I was thinking of doing the website where you and your guests send video and pics and they make a video of your entire day. It is way cheaper and a nice way to see everyone's candid shots of tables you are not at.

We're most likely going to lose it.

I would LOVE to have a video memory of my wedding, but at this point, it's not in the budget. I still have over a year, so I'm hoping that something will change with the budget and it eventually will be able to handle a videographer!

I wish we could use it but unfortunately budget is telling us to lose it.

Losing it. We're just having photography at our wedding.

Use it. It was important to my fiance. Our awesomely priced one ended up closing their business. We found a replacement one, albeit a bit more money than our original one.

Using! My married friends have all said they were so happy they went with it or wished they had hired. Look around for deals or smaller time session if working with a smaller budget!

Lose it. It was never in our budget to have one.

Use it. We hummed and hawed over it but decided to go for it and found one for a fairly reasonable price. I know I'll go back and watch it.

Using! Only because my sisters friends gave us a great deal - otherwise we wouldn’t have done it

Lose it. i love the idea but i hate the current trend of having these 6-8 “highlight” videos of the day. if i was to end up hiring a videographer, I would want something more documentary style

I would love to have videography, but it's just so expensive and we just can't justify it with all of our other expenses.

We will likely discuss with our photographer what would be the least distracting/invasive for her and probably set up a few cameras/go pros on tripods to record the ceremony and speeches on our own. I know we wont get as good of quality and the sound might not be great, but hopefully it will be better than nothing.

Lose it. All the videographers I have looked around at all have prices that are really not in our budget. Plus, my FFIL said about getting a videographer about his wedding "I really don't want to see and watch my wedding as a guest through another's eyes on a video and have that be my memory of my wedding. I want my memories of the day to be what I saw and experienced through my own eyes" and I thought that was profound and deep and it swayed me,

Unfortunately, lose it. I wish we could have afforded it but it's just an extra expense that was unnecessary. I wouy have liked to have at least the ceremony but oh well. It's something I'd watch once every few years or so and that's why it wasn't something we tried to work into the budget.

UGH I wish. we couldn't afford it... but my FHs dad will record the ceremony and the first dance so that's nice of him

Use it! Its one time of your life you get to celebrate and look at memories over the years.

Not using so losing But would have loved to have it. Just budget reasons. Although we might DIY our own version with a friend and a GoPro.

Use it. It’s a part of my package for the ceremony. Otherwise it would’ve been a no. But I’m happy about it still

Use it - this was one thing that although we didn't think we could afford it, I was adamant that we would pull out our own camera and a tripod if need be.
