True or False? - I started planning before the proposal

Joey, on December 3, 2018 at 08:05 Posted in Before the wedding 0 37

Before the engagement was "official" did you start a wedding Pinterest board? Make mental lists of your wedding likes and dislikes? Maybe even try on a few dresses or suits?

False, partially because I wanted to plan together, also because he proposed as a surprise on my bday after 2.5 months

We're getting married on the 10-year anniversary of our first date and we both agreed on the date years before we actually got engaged. 4 people in my family are in the wedding industry so my whole life has basically been me dreaming up what I would and wouldn't do on my wedding day. No shame whatsoever haha I've been planning this wedding so long I'm over a year out and have only been "officially" planning for 3 weeks but I swear if my wedding was next month I'd be ready.

    False.

I never want to start something like that until it's a reality (a.k.a been proposed too). Otherwise, you're investing a lot in something that might not happen.

I knew he was gonna propose and did not know when. I was secretly researching wedding venues, but I was keeping it hush hush, cause I didn't want to SERIOUSLY look until we were officially engaged. So when we FINALLY did get engaged, I started showing Fh and My mom the places I'd picked.

I think it's okay to dream about where you will get married, or what sort of wedding you want. But I don't know about really seriously planning until after the proposal.

But I also think that every relationship is different, and if you and Fh don't have a very traditional relationship, then I'm sure it's fine.I have a special planner https://www.betacalendars.com/october-calendar.html . First, you must set your budget. Secondly, pre-order a restaurant, a place to register, etc.

True, we picked the venue a little less than a year before. I also strongly encourage you to plan your calendars (https://www.dreamcalendars.com/calendar/2020). Happiness!

Very True! I live 22 hours from home, so when I was home last before the engagement I did a little bit of research on venues...

In order to prepare this holiday, you need a lot of effort. It is necessary to plan everything clearly, prepare in advance. I have a special planner https://onplanners.com/planners/best-hourly-planners . First, you must set your budget. Secondly, pre-order a restaurant, a place to register, etc.

Ohh heck yeah. I even took event planning for school, with a wedding planning course, so I got to use that for an 'excuse' for a bit too... Haha.

True in one sense- we had talked about whether to get married here or in England(my hometown) and I had looked to compare prices. Other than that, nothing

True-ish. I fell in love with my FH early on in our relationship, so I'd been daydreaming about a wedding for a while.

True... My fiancé and I were dating for 11 years before he proposed! Needless to say for the last year I knew it was coming and we had talked about it quite a bit. But I did have a full Pinterest wedding board and even had a couple quotes from possible venues. I'm a planner! I also have to say it made it a bit easier and less stressful when it came time to do the planning Smiley smile

False, mostly. We had talked about getting married a long time before he proposed so we had thrown some wedding ideals out there but never actually planned anything it was just ideas.

True? and False... I have been "planning" my wedding since I was a little girl! lol as for actually looking into rings and venues, etc. - no. We talked about marriage about 2 months prior to me proposing and then we started looking into it for real.

True! We actually booked the venue before the proposal. And I had been planning since before I even met my husband! He didn’t like all my ideas but we used the colours and centrepieces ideas I had been thinking for years.

True! It wasn't any hardcore planning obviously, but I had a Pinterest Board of wedding colour palettes, dresses, and random decor. I also had a rough list of venues for various cities we might've gotten married in.

I have had a Pinterest board for quite some time before I got engaged. Just collecting any ideas, I had a lot of pins to go through once I got engaged to narrow down my plans and vision
