Transportation from Ceremony to Reception.

Chloe, on January 7, 2021 at 14:04 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 8

Hello everyone!

SO in a bit of a dilemma, but tons of time to figure it out. I am getting married on June 18th, 2022. Our ceremony is going to be at my grandparents' farm and our reception is 20 minutes away. I looked at getting a party bus for the short drive because I just don't wanna take a regular truck or car, BUT the party bus cost $900 for the 20-minute drive. I was just wondering if anyone has any other cool ideas on how to get from farm to venue??

*Side note limo is the same price*

I too have a similar issue.

Our Wedding is 20 minutes from our Farm where the dinner is...BUT...our Reception is at the same place the Wedding is at.

    Why???

Because we have a lot of people coming to the Reception, and we can have them stay at either of these options at the Reception Venue - tenting, Trailer OR Hotel .. our Dinner is only 20-22 people, and our Wedding is about 40 people...

So our issue is Transport for the Dinner Guests from the Wedding to the Dinner and BACK to the Wedding Venue for staggered and spread out Reception Guests where we don't have to worry about too many wobbly pops or fizzy sippers...SAFTEY First!

Same costs as you...ANY ideas out there!? Our local bus line quoted us $760.00 four 4 hours!

THAT is a terrifying number to ensure 20 - 22 of our most precious people enjoy themselves and are safe for dinner!

    HELP!

The price for the time of travel doesn't add up of what the company quoted you. Its best to drive for such a small distance and get pictures taken as you two with the wedding party will be the last to arrive at the reception. I know the transportation means so much to get for such an occasion being pricy.

I've been looking into transportation as well and I'm a little shocked at the pricing. I did read one post where someone recommended uber black as an option.

I don't know if this idea horrifies you, lol, but my city's school bus line does events! I was quoted around $500 for 3 trips to and from our venue. Something to look into if you're looking for something cheaper (and are willing to forfeit a little bit of class, haha).

Have you checked to see if a company does just a one way payment instead? I was able to find one for my wedding in the summer in BC. they just charge for pickup to drop off and the same thing for when we come home.

Can you use the party bus for the whole day for anything else? Like could it be used to collect the wedding party and bring them to and from wherever you're getting ready and to the ceremony location? I know this doesn't decrease the price, but it might make it more worthwhile.
