Transportation

So just an update I have heard from one company as as long as I register with them a month before my wedding and post something up at the wedding ( like the frame you posted a picture of Melissa) they will offer my guests a 10% off if they mention my wedding and this is the company that drives you and your vehicle home ! so thats not too shabby !

Will do , so far I have contacted 2 and still awaiting replys so I will keep everyone posted with what I hear back!

I have emailed a few cab companies here including one that drives your vehicle home for you, so just waiting on responses now, I will let you all know what I find out ! As far as our bar is concerned our wedding is a real country wedding and our family and friends can be big drinkers so we opted not to have an open bar as the cray party will be our buck and doe in the spring ... so as part of our favour my FH and I purchased 2 drinks for everyone (there will be little custom drink tickets at their place setting waiting for them) and we also have made the drinks a little bit lower in cost .. instead of them being $5.50 a drink we have made them $4.50 a drink..... and we will pick up the remaining tab.

Keep up the great work Natasha! Let us know what you decide on I really like the idea of having their car taken home with them too! Sounds awesome! How wil you manage the drinks? Will you have an open bar or toonie bar?

Hey Natasha!

The hotel where I booked a block of room offers free shuttle service if a certain number of rooms are booked. So we will hopefully meet that minimum, and if not we will pay the extra fee to provide the shuttle. Maybe check with a hotel nearby and see if they offer a similar option.

I will also be posting a sign similar to Melissa's picture. I'm not sure what area of Ontario you're getting married in, but I know another version of Keys is Designated Drivers (for Niagara region), they have flat rates for guests, or you can get a quote to have them set up at your wedding (so guests wouldn't have to call and wait)

I know in the states Uber lets you work with Uber to give your guests a coupon code (and you pay a fee or your guests pay little to nothing). I don't know if it works in Canada or if your wedding is in a major city, but it's worth a call/email if you want to check that route.

Thanks I definatly will check out those links today, this is definatly a big to do on my list right now ... I have 130 people comming to my wedding (that is including the wedding party) I like the taxi idea so everyone has the freedom of going home when they would like as some have children to go home to ... I have also been looking into Keys Thanks here so that way their vehicle would be taken home with them... I definatly have a few options to look at .

Hey Natasha Thanks for bringing this up! I totally agree with Melissa. I think it's great that you're thinking about transportation for your guests. I think the taxi idea is great if your guests want to have the freedom to leave at different times!

Safe ride home

I think it is a really thoughtful idea to rent a bus! You could do that, and but the info on your wedding website to let people know that at the end of the night there will be a ride home (not sure about maybe a sign up to plan a route for the driver, we might be getting into really expensive territory). Depending on how that goes, it might get complicated if everyone are headed to homes and not just one hotel location.

If people want to filter out at different times, you could always arrange with a taxi company a special flat rate for your wedding. My friend had a little sign at her bar explaining that a ride with a certain taxi company would be a reduced flat rate if they mentioned the (name) wedding. Taxi companies are receptive, because if they offer the rate, their competitors won't get the calls!
