This is all over the place...

Jen, on March 29, 2018 at 09:52 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 11

My nerves are at an all time high right now! We have meeting with our venue coordinator today to go over some details of our bar and how the day is going to go at the venue. They've put together a mock up of how our head table will look as well. I can't tell if it's just the coffee or if my nerves are on overdrive. The wedding is coming up so quickly. All of my days off from work now consist of appointments or meetings that are wedding related.

We are also officially paying off our last two vendors. We've also booked a Photo Booth with our photographer. He gave us a pretty sweet deal so we couldn't pass up on it.

We are at the 2 month mark.. well, just over by a week and a few days. For the past brides, at which point did you start to really panic? I feel like there are all sorts of little details that I am missing and want to stay on top of everything to ensure that we are on the right track.

My photographer is asking me for a day of timeline. How far in advance did you make yours? Our wedding planner is supposed to take over that aspect for us as she's better at coordinating how the day should go, but I want to make it now! lol She doesn't step in for another month to help out. My brain legit just needs to chill down a bit.

One last question.. Who plans the day after get together? And what do you typically do for it? Should we just have a brunch at the hotel we are staying at or something small at our place? Who do you invite? I really don't know.

Please help me. I feel like I'm drowning in wedding right now.

Oh man, I'm so overwhelmed lol you don't even know! I'm about to post something new asking for guidance on a certain situation. The nightmares are getting worse because of everything!

You need to relax! Everything will get done. You're just very overwhelmed right now. Breathe.

I think my photographer wants the timeline done a few months before - just to make sure it will work their their schedules (I am having 2 videographers and 2 photographers). It also has to work with my makeup artist, hair dresser, limo pick ups, mass, and reception. Plus it has to fit in the 10 hour time frame we've booked them for (this will be the disaster!). Make sure you have everything in detail, as well as which major photographs will be shot at that time (i.e. parents at 4:30, groom with cake at 7:30).

As for the day after, we will probably do a luncheon at one of our homes just for us and our immediate family. Our parents and siblings. Nothing crazy!

All I can answer is the last question! We are doing a brunch the next morning but only for our out of town guests to spend a bit more time with them before they head out. We are reserving space at a local restaurant (undecided if we will do the one with a small space set apart or one that's closer that will just block off tables for us). We are going to send people an email when they RSVP letting them know the plan and asking them to respond if they can come. We aren't doing invitations as it is going to be informal. Guests will pay for themselves.

I don't think you need to have a next day thing though. If it seems like an extra thing to add to your long list or you don't know where to have it I wouldn't worry about it. If we didn't have so many out of towners, I wouldn't have planned anything!

Oh my lord, I may just take you up on that! I honestly have no idea when things should happen throughout the day. We got the ceremony and reception timeline somewhat figured out tonight with our venue manager but I need to get EVERYTHING from start to finish down in writing.

It's okay! I know it's stressful but it can also be really exciting!

I don't know if I'll panic because I'm OVER organized, but I realized that all my weekends coming up are pretty much booked until after the wedding now. Not only for my OWN wedding stuff, but my MOH is also getting married this year so I have Bridesmaid dress shopping to do for hers and helping plan and go to her Bridal Shower.

I'm at 3ish months out and I've had my day of time line FULLY done for about 2 weeks now. But I was chomping at this bit on getting it done. If you need any help I'd be happy to assist! I'll wait till a bit closer to giving the photographer our list of must have family photos though.

Eeek I’m 4 months out and starting to feel like this too. We have 7 other weddings to go to from June to September plus ours and our bachelor/ette parties. I’m not sure if we’ll do something the next day. My FMIL has asked about it but we didn’t register for gifts so not sure if a gift opening is for us. I’ve been to a couple breakfastes the morning after which were nice. One was at the hotel we were staying at so super convenient! We might do a pancake breakfast the next morning with those who are camping out at the farm, we don’t really have much room in the budget for more food lol

You could always book a back room in a restaurant (some have a back room or more private room) and that way all the gifts are in contained spot as well and you could open when waiting for breakfast or after you eat.

I think I would just want something small. Like a BBQ or something but we live in a basement apartment and really don't have much space. I didn't want to put this on any of our parents because they are already planning the rehearsal dinner. Maybe having it in the restaurant would be the easiest seeing as how everybody will already be there.

So exciting and yes the last few months I can imagine would be tad stressful. For my sisters wedding we just had something at her house the next day for opening gifts and did a brunch before hand at a local restaurant. It’s up to you, it was our parents idea to do it
