This is my engagement ring (and wedding band). I had no idea at all what my FH had planned for me. He spent 8 months designing this ring with the online company customemade. He incorporated Ruby's and opals to match the ring that I wear everyday that had belonged to my Nan. I was absolutely amazed. I had already known I had wanted a ruby but I couldn't have imagined something this amazing!

He designed and chose mine without me! He enlisted the help of some friends, but ultimately decided himself and I love it!

I had been looking at rings online for a couple of months and dropping hints. We finally went to a jewelry store to try on the ring I loved, and I LOVED it on my finger. We went back a few months later and it was on sale, so he bought it then. I then had to wait 13 more months for a proposal LOL

He would always show me rings and see what my opinion was on them. Until I let him know I like solitaire rings with a round diamond and a diamond band. He ended up taking my mom with him to design the perfect ring for me!

My engagement was a mutual decision so we went together to get my ring. We plan to get fairly expensive wedding bands so we decided on a cheap "look I'm engaged ring" just so people are not like "where's your ring?". No one seems to care that I picked it out especially once I tell the story of how the store didn't have the ring I wanted in my size so I chose another ring, when the salesperson went into the back to get it he said that behind the ring I finally decided on was the original ring I wanted in my size. My FH looked at me and said "seems like fate lol".

I gave him some ideas here and there showing him random rings I saw on Instagram. Then he went and picked this all by himself! I loved being able to see it for the first time when he asked me to be his wife. I absolutely LOVE it!!!!

Much to nearly all my girlfriends dismay, I was in the camp of "I will love whatever you get me so just pick it out". We did one session of trying on different cuts and styles, and I came away really loving the pear shape diamond but did not make a point of emphasizing that. Cue to the engagement, and FH opened the ring box to a ring that I instantly did not like, at all. I did my best to ignore it, because after all, I said I would love whatever didn't I? We enjoyed a 45 minute wintery sleigh ride in the mountains and once we got back into our car, FH immediately said "You don't like the ring do you?" and I started to cry and cry, I felt so bad I wanted to love it. But then FH just perked up and said he had a feeling that it might go that way and was more than happy to go back to the store and pick out something together. Then we both felt immediately better! A couple days later we ended up designing the ring I have now, and when FH picked it up he came home, re proposed and this time I cried many tears of joy! I love love love this ring and am super proud to wear it everyday. I am also so thankful for a partner that I can communicate so openly with Lesson learned though, listen to your girlfriends! Ha.

My husband then had a ring that was small for him when moving into his home as making it ours officially. The ring fit me perfectly and still wear it as an engagement ring. He was going to buy one to propose which would have cost a lot out of his budget.

The idea of saving the cost of purchasing a ring was to put the cost towards the wedding bands one time for the actual day. I did appreciate the thought and would have loved to be surprised though it would hurt me that he would have to put that cost on the ring uselessly.

I designed mine!

Reason being - I'm the one who proposed to him!! lol

As for the Wedding Bands - he designed those and they are being made as we speak!

We went shopping together 5 months before he proposed to get a general idea of what we both liked. I honestly fell in love with so many styles that day that I no longer had a clear vision of what I wanted. My FH on the other hand was pretty stuck on an emerald cut. I was completely surprised with the ring he ended up getting for me - it was nothing like I tried on before, but it was an emerald cut. I'm so happy with it! 😍

I picked mine too! I showed him pictures of what I liked, and he found pictures of what he liked that he thought i would like, and it was actually the lady at the jewelry store who actually looked at the pictures and then picked out my now ring!!!

He picked it out all on his own! He is a huge diamond and jewelry person, so I knew whatever he picked would be amazing. All I did was show him pictures of what I wanted and he got exactly what I wanted.

I picked out my stones for the ring (I love gemstones, particularly sapphire and spinel) and told him the look I wanted. He designed it.
I absolutely love it.
