Can I just say I’m so happy I found the WW community! Especially with the crappy hand we’ve been dealt. Chatting with everyone has been great, and has also made me so curious to learn more about your weddings! Those who have postponed or are forging ahead this year: where are you getting married / hosting your reception? Place of worship? Natural setting? Hotel? Restaurant?Country club? What drew you to your venue / what is your favourite feature now? Pictures are encouraged!

Were holding our wedding at a hotel in downtown Halifax. We’re doing the ceremony/cocktails on the rooftop patio: cfb_2x_60671.jpg

And then doing dinner and such in the ballroom indoors. I chose my venue because it’s super central, elegant but casual at the same time, and the staff are absolutely on top of everything.
Would love to hear about other venues if anyone’s willing to share!!

Love the rooftop patio! We had a rooftop venue on our shortlist before picking our official one.

Will be held in a historical mansion with a backyard ceremony. Gives off a Downton Abbey/garden party atmosphere which I love ❤️They also donate some of the proceeds they earn to a hospital situated near the venue which I also love. Tell me about your venue! 1

Beautiful rooftop for your cocktail hour with the lights on the beams.

Our venue was gorgeous for its view of the water and activities provided on land and water for guests to enjoy with the kids and families. Campfire was also arranged the same day as checking in for a later time in the night after coming back from Welcome Dinner. The venue of our choice was Kempenfelt Conference Centre that is closed now. The layout is hard to see if you were to zoom in though nature had its views to enjoy as well.

I always knew I wanted a back yard wedding, so we're having our ceremony in FH's parent's back yard that they got all landscaped and pretty just for us (they'll obviously enjoy it too😂)! I don't have any pictures yet because weather has been crummy and there's no flowers or anything put in yet. Then we're having our reception at a curling club that FH's whole family is a part of. It's not the prettiest place, but it's got a dance floor, good sound system, a kitchen and full bar. And because we'll be the first to hold a wedding reception there the price they gave us was amazing, on top of that they are paying for half our photographer if we allow them to use some of our photos so they can use them to advertise to other people that they can have their weddings there. What more do you need?!

Our original/reception venue is an old Victorian building that used to be an exclusive gentleman only club. It's got this grab staircase and they've begun to modernize the space while keeping the charm and history intact. We've changed the date to use it for our reception next year.

Because we're eloping we won't need a whole building so we've been talking about a spot nearby where we would have done photos. Locally it's called Rogue Alley (after a coffee shop nearby) and it has brick and twinkly lights. It's near some of our favorite spots and can be filled with art installations during certain seasons.
If that doesn't work out we have lots of private beaches and secluded spots in parks that we could use and they would all make for wonderful memories and breathtaking photos.
