Can I just say I’m so happy I found the WW community! Especially with the crappy hand we’ve been dealt. Chatting with everyone has been great, and has also made me so curious to learn more about your weddings! Those who have postponed or are forging ahead this year: where are you getting married / hosting your reception? Place of worship? Natural setting? Hotel? Restaurant?Country club? What drew you to your venue / what is your favourite feature now? Pictures are encouraged!

Were holding our wedding at a hotel in downtown Halifax. We’re doing the ceremony/cocktails on the rooftop patio: Tell me about your venue! 1

And then doing dinner and such in the ballroom indoors. I chose my venue because it’s super central, elegant but casual at the same time, and the staff are absolutely on top of everything.
Would love to hear about other venues if anyone’s willing to share!!

We found our location in a small place where my fiance grew up, on either side in a short distance there is a beach on one side with the Marina on the other. I love this location, it has it own natural beauty to it.

We ended up choosing our date for July 2021. And thankfully we did! Avoiding much of the stress of having to reschedule. Luckily we had booked most of our big expenses before this whole thing happened! Still we are very excited to be getting married on the beach in Victoria BC. Our venue is a little rustic and beachy. And they have amazing food!

We are getting married in Halifax too, at the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic on the waterfront.
If weather permits we will have the ceremony and cocktail hour on the rooftop patio overlooking the harbour 😊

It’s funny we came across our venue when we were not engaged, and we saw a wedding happening there and we kinda loved it. It is super close to us too. When we did get engaged it was def a venue we wanted to explore. We just felt in love with it. It’s modern, and has a bride and groom suites for us to get ready in.I’m really hoping we will be able to get married there!!!

We are getting married in a cherry orchard (walking down the aisle through the trees!!!) around the corner from my parents house. They have a small barn we will use for cocktail hour and our reception will be in a big tent. I am so excited we found this venue. It is a working fruit picking farm so they are only open May, June and September for weddings!

About a year - late July or late August 2021.
They have been really rock stars as a venue and are holding a few dates for us until we can see which lines up with most of the vendors to minimize having to start from square one again.

First, yay another Halifax Bride and congrats!
Though the original plan and date for the wedding has changed by dividing into smaller legal ceremony/party and the 'wedding', the venue is still the same for the larger wedding. We were lucky enough to snag the Compass Room and Seawalk Stage at Casino, NS for that one.
My parents, who have a beautiful backyard with lots of greenery and flowers, are letting us use it for the day of the smaller legal ceremony. I am super grateful too as we live in an apartment and didn't have many options for a space. :-)

We’re getting married at The C Hotel by Carmen’s in Hamilton! We are having our ceremony on the roof top which has gorgeous views of the Toronto & Niagara sky line, and are doing our cocktail hour/dinner/reception in the Dolce rooftop room, with the rooftop open too for guests! They have string lights that I CANNOT wait to get pictures outside with on the rooftop too!

I love that rooftop patio, so beautiful!! In light of COVID-19, we've decided to cut our guest count and move our wedding to my grand-parents farm overlooking the water. I've only recently started planning my smaller wedding, and I'm actually more excited for it than a big wedding at a different venue.

That's so beautiful!!
We are doing ours near the water in a couple towns over. They have a huge room for dancing, and a bar and such! We are doing everything inside which saved us $1000 if we were to do our ceremony outside. Our venue is very accommodating too!

We're doing the reception the day before which keeps it on a Friday. We both loved the idea of a Friday evening wedding from the start so we decided to keep it!
