Table layout

Rosalyn, on January 28, 2018 at 23:16 Posted in Wedding reception 0 15
Anyone else having a hard time working with their seatting plan? Our venue only does long tables of 12. So we will have 4 tables of 12.
Tricky part being - my family number is 16, FH’s is 10, friends is 8 and our wedding party table will be 12. I know I can make it work by shifting a bit around but trying not to make it awkward or make anyone feel like they were brushed to a table for room.

I don't honestly know, because of the RSVP thing. I will just wait until everyone has RSVPed and then I'll attack the problem again Smiley smile

I mixed the families onto each table and had to squeeze one person on a few tables.

Work around the tables and see if the venue can accomodate an extra table if needed. Keep in mind some may not show up and some seats can be rerouted to accommodate your guests.

It is killing me as well. I think at the end I will just leave some empty seats on a few tables.

I LOVE the big table idea.. I am trying to achieve that to be honest.

I would maybe completely mix the families if possible. That way only a few people won't feel like they were knocked out.. so like.. all parents at one table, aunts and uncles at another. Cousins mixed in somewhere else,

I wish we could! Room is too small to have any more than what the lay out is! 😞

Can you put two tables together for your family, so they would be at one long table, than one for his family, one for friends, and one for wedding party.

I don't think anyone will feel offended or anything by where you seat them. I would suggest that if you are going to split your family between the other tables, put your younger family members with your friends as they will likely have more in common.
