Stressed about not having things to do

Cathrine, on February 1, 2018 at 14:56 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 15

I'm at a weird point in my planning where i'm in a holding pattern with nothing substantial to do. Things will pick up again soon as we get closer to the wedding but right now, we haven't sent out invites yet, so i can't track people down for RSVP's or work on the seating chart. Venue is all set, most food decisions have been made, we just need to wait to give them numbers of people showing up. Decorations are done, cake is ordered. My dress fitting isn't till March and i just got my shoes. I have a strange energy where i feel like i should be doing something, which makes me feel panicky but there isn't anything to be done right now. Anyone else in this zone?

I’m definitively in this stage right now!!! It’s the worst. I feel this impending doom of forgetting something or leaving something out!! So I’ve kept myself busy (and satisfied my OCD by making a wedding binder and board with all the info; due dates, payment plans etc

Yes! I feel like im missing something!
Im still trying to find THE dress. But i have all the big stuff except the marriage license but ill get that in August. Its too early to get invitations yet. Other then that i guess i could start making decorations but i also dont have alot of space to store everything i need.

I had felt the same and went over the bags to doublw check the name cards being proper and changing table numbers, arrangements and cards often.

I'm looking forward to this. I have a list of 50 or 60 things to do. All of our vendors are booked minus dessert options. I'm doing all of the decor, flowers and making the dress so with 200 days to go, I anticipate being busy until the very end.

I'm at that point right now (getting married this March...only 1.5 months to go!), although our RSVPs are due tomorrow so I can start the seating plans and stuff now. I found during my down time I'm working on the little details (like random signs for the guest book, candy table and table numbers) and I've spent the last few weeks getting my bridesmaid gifts and parent gifts. I also did a rough draft of the timeline, so if you have a good idea of timing for the day of, you can make that too Smiley smile

I'm pretty much there, as the last few addresses I need to get are on hubby's side of the family so I'm leaving that to him to make he gets them.

I'm anxious about not being anxious about the planning. It's vicious and it's nice to know I'm not alone!

I've been trying to turn off my brain but I've been working on little pieces of decor... so I've made a couple welcome signs and have started putting together my entry table to see if I like it.

I am at that point for my September wedding. It is very weird, and makes me feel stressed. However, I have been doing some little odds and ends that are not that important and could wait, but made me feel a little better to know I have at least something to do.

I'm there right now. Huge amount of restless energy. I just ordered a bunch of silk florals, and just waiting for them to come in so I can start bouquets etc. But yeah. I foresee a lot of this feeling.

I have only been engaged for 5 weeks, and my wedding is January 2019... and I'm already feeling this. We've booked our venue already, got our budget, guest list, invitations (designed, not ordered), my Pinterest page of centrepieces, favours, dresses, bridesmaid looks, hair styles, etc.... it's full. But it seems every day I'm on here or on Pinterest, looking at things to do, what to change, etc. I've been told to take a bubble bath and turn off the planning.

I even have my seating plan mocked up, because it's so easy to do here on their digital seating chart. Maybe if you're bored, mock one up with your original guest list? And edit it as people RSVP. ... Or follow the advice given to me, and take a bubble bath and try to turn it off. Haha.

I couldn’t agree more! My wedding is September this year and I have all my vendors secure, haven’t sent out invites yet either and more or less just waiting to start working on the little details. It is a weird feeling haha but you’re not alone!

I'm at the same point! There's still a few details to work out, but for the most part we are waiting for spring to get started on our centrepieces, and invitations are being sent out around April. I wanted everything to be done before sending out invitations, so I feel like I will be able to accomplish this.

I think we all feel like that at some point. As you said things will pick up again so just sit back and enjoy having less to think about and do at the moment.
