Splurge or Save: Florals?

Joey, on August 21, 2017 at 08:56 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 89

This week's game is all about budgeting. We want to know what wedding items you'll be splurging on, and where you'll be saving money.

So...

Will you splurge or save on florals?

Will you go all out with flowers? Will you go all out with flowers or keep them simple?

Will you keep them simple? Will you keep them simple?

Are you going for a non-floral option instead? Are you going for a non-floral option?

Maybe a mix of real and silk flowers or your bouquet go with real and bridesmaids have silk/ carry something unique or nothing (I'm thinking of cutting their flowers to save costs).

Up to you really. If you want real flowers perhaps opt for more fillers (less expensive plants/greenery ) to help keep cost lower.
*I believe traditionally the reason behind carrying flowers was because bathing wasn't a common thing/ luxury expense. Bridal party carried flowers to hide the smell, soooo just make sure everyone baths and tou should be good.

SAAAAVE. Aside from bouquets & boutonnieres, there are no flowers at our wedding. I even made pine cone "bouquets" for the centrepieces. Flowers don't really grow in January... so I don't need a see of expensive cut ones at my wedding Smiley xd

We hand-made our boutonnieres, bridesmaids bouquets, and centerpieces with bulk flowers from Costco (primarily baby's breath and eucalyptus), and they turned out wonderfully. With a large wedding party of 9 bridesmaids and 6 groomsmen, it was a great way to save. And out of all things to splurge on, I chose photography/videography over flowers. Just make sure you have help from family/friends– you don't want to be scrambling on your own 2 days before the wedding!

Save, I'm having a broach bouquet and the rest of the wedding will have real flowers even though originally I had wanted paper or perler flowers. They are included in the package so we might as well get real flowers

Save. I found that the centerpieces are where the cost of flowers is really going to add up so I am trying to come up with something else as a center piece besides a flower arrangement. But the bridal party and parents will have beautiful pieces made professionally.

I spent a decent amount on the flowers for myself, the bridal party and boutonniere's for the groomsman and groom. However I saved by not having flowers at my reception besides our bouquets on the head table and then in our centerpieces, we had 3 fake flowers in each one and those were bought from the dollar store.
