Something Old, New, Borrowed, Blue

Stephanie, on November 14, 2017 at 16:31 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 16

Anyone doing the traditional something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue? We are doing some traditional things, but not others. If you are doing it, what are yours?

I had something old and borrowed (my mum's veil) and something new (pretty much the rest of my outfit). I didn't really have anything blue as it would not have matched the colour scheme.

I followed those 4 things: Old (my earrings and necklace), New (my wedding dress), Borrowed (my mother's bracelet made from my grandmother's pearl necklace), Blue (my shoes).

I did it, just for something cute.

My something old and borrowed was a ring that my grandfather made for my mom with her initial on it...which happens to be the initial of my new last name.

My something new was my dress.

My something blue were my shoes and my engagement ring (sapphire centre stone).

I would like to do this tradition but haven't found everything yet. I know I'm going to do blue heels and sapphire jewelry (counts as something blue as well as matching FHs blue suit)Something new would be my dress. My MIL gave me a nice bracelet 7th at I'm contemplating wearing as something old. And I'm hoping that my grandmother can find something my grampa had given to her before he passed away as my something borrowed.

I am planning on doing this! I'm currently only missing my "something borrowed". My "old" will be my FH's great-grandmothers handkerchief that his mother is planning on giving to me. My "new" could be a number of things, but I'll go with my dress. And my "blue" is my hairpiece, it's a hair comb with sapphires on it. I even went a step further and got "the six pence for my shoe". It's a neat little tradition that's kinda fun.

I did do the something old, new, borrowed and blue tradition!

My something old was a brooch that belonged to my great grandma who passed away a few years ago. My dad gave it to me just before my wedding ceremony started and pinned it onto my flower bouquet!

My something new - take your pick...I had new jewelry my mom bought me to wear on my wedding day, my dress was new, my shoes were new!

My something borrowed was my hair piece! My friend wore it on her wedding day and I borrowed it for my wedding!

My something blue were these stickers that said I do. I put them on the bottom of my shoes because I didn't want a garter.

Not sure about all the items yet but I know my something old will be from my mothers wedding dress. We’re also using their ring bearer pillow as their ring boy was my cousin and that same cousin now has a son who will now be my really my ring bearer

We also skipped all the traditional stuff but I did do this!

My something old was a pin that my childhood best friend gave to me when we were little before she passed away so I wanted to have that with me to have a piece of her there with me.

My something new was also the same thing as my something blue since I didn't want a garter. I had new cute blue underwear lol

My borrowed was my mom's necklace

My something new is my dress. I'm going to borrow my mother's sapphire necklace which could be something old, borrowed, and blue, but I might think of some other things.
