Shoes

Keena, on June 27, 2018 at 15:17 Posted in Wedding fashion 0 17
I’m wearing heels to walk down the aisle .. My dress is altered to the shoes but after the ceremony I am able to change shoes right ? Like my dress will be longer but will it be a huge deal or do I need to keep the same shoes on all evening ?

I might suggest finding a pair of small wedges you can change into - maybe an inch or so. Even that little bit of a heel will help you feel like you're not tripping over your dress once you switch out of your heels - that's what I'm doing!

If you're worried about drag or tripping, maybe get a pretty blinhed up pin (brooch like) that you can pin up a section of your dress, to keep you safe and sound. Try to get it to match your dress and it can be a oretty reusable piece. Also, the trend for many brides seems to be trading heels for converse or ballet style flats after the ceremony. We all know how painful heels can get after even an hour of wear, don't forget comfy inserts, break in your shoes way before the date, and if they pinch a bit while breaking them in, use the ziploc frozen water bag stretch. Place a small ziploc bag in the shoe, in the toe section, and place in freezer overnight. Next day remove from freezer, take out frozen bags, and voila, shoe is stretched out a bit more!

    I think it'll be fine!

Most brides do this and they just hold their dress when they walk to avoid tripping if they feel its a tad too long Smiley smile

You can totally change shoes but you might get tripped up in your dress if you wear flats as your dress is altered to be the perfect length with high heels.

It's going to drag a bit, but that's so worth it for a while in my opinion if you can be comfortable!!

I just chose a small wedge sandal to change into so I still have some height but it’s really up to you. I just knew it would bother me dragging my dress outside since we’re outdoors.

Your dress will drag without your heels, but that's totally fine! Be comfortable! I'm going to be doing the same! When I dance, I usually hold onto my skirt anyway, so it won't bother me too much when I dance.

If your dress is altered to then you will want to do your first dance with your husband and if you do a father daughter dance in then. Otherwise they could step on the dress or you could trip

A lot of people will go barefoot or switch to more comfortable shoes.

I'd recommend keeping the heels on for ceremony, pictures and for first dances

You can always change but it will depend on your dress how easy or not it is to walk around. You will have to pick up the front of the dress when you walk.

I wouldnt overthink it because your guests will not be looking at the bottom of your dress. But it may get a bit scuffed and torn if your walking and dancing on it.

Should be fine! Most dresses that have a long train will come with a bustle that you can put up to help with any additional length you dont want dragging around!
If you're wearing a really high heel for the ceremony maybe grab a pair of shoes for after that have a smaller heel? Still comfy with a bit of height to help!

How high are your heels? I honestly don't think it's a big deal, so long as you're comfortable Smiley smile
